    Hello all!

I need a new stator and was curious what my v4 brothers and sisters have used.

Has anyone used Rick's Motorsports or Electrosports/Electrex stators?

Easy to install? Charge well? Any longevity?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks!

I just replaced my R/R with one from Rick's. They sent it out promptly and were pleasant to deal with. It has larger heat sinks than the stock one which meant that I had to buy a couple of bolts to mount it. The R/R and a new battery means my bike is running great.

I put one on my 93. I had it shipped overnight and had at 7 AM the next day. It was easy to install, and it does its job well with nom complaints.

Mark, the r/r is not the stator. The stator is behind the engine cover on the left side of the bike. To add, I also put a Ricks Motorsports r/r on my 93. No problems from either unit. I do recommend them.

Thanks vman! I replaced my old RR with one from Electrosports, but I was still having some issues. So I checked the stator and it is not charging fully. So time for a new stator!

I have seen people use both brands so I wondered what the opinions might be. I am going to go with the Rick's stator.

Test your stator if you have not already. Mine is only a little fried. It works, but does not charge its full range.

    Just an FYI.

I bought a re-man stator for one of my XV920Rs a few years ago from Rice Paddy in Columbus,OH. I don't remember what brand it was, but it was still stator-ing nicely when I sold the bike earlier this year.

I assume you've inspected the wire harness closely?? Make sure to check the plastic connectors where the main harness connects to the stator plug (behind the right mid fairing) I thought I needed a new stator last week and it this turned out to be the culprit. I just cut the 1 piece plastic connector out and replaced with bullet style connectors.

Same here - last season. Intermittent charging issues. Would fail when warmed up. Had to cut out the connector and about 1-1/2 inch of wire corroded under the insulation.
