just purchased a vf700. needs a little work, don't know what I'm going to do w/ it yet (street or race). current bikes are a yam 84 tz250L, a 94 tz125 ( one of two imported directly to the usa). a 94 and a 97 Honda rs125, my vf 700, a 85 yam fz750, a 85 cagiva 650, 75 (most of it ) kaw s3 400, 75 suz gt500, 80 kaw 750/4, my daily runner a 09 tri. speed triple 1050, a frame crafters H1 500 kaw.
Hi Tom and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome: Wow - that is a mighty impressive fleet you are running. I am sure once you have the VF700 running well, it will fit in with the others, even if the VF700F mostly came about to duck under the higher import taxes applied at the time on the 750 models. They changed the gearing for the 700, providing the smaller bike a slightly better 50-100 time but with the 750 eventually delivering a higher top speed. So if you do decide to race it, you will find it is no slouch. Take care and enjoy the ride. :vtr2::vtr2::vtr2: SkiMad
thanks for the welcome. always been a big fan of the vf 500/700/750/1000 series bikes. I wasn't planning on getting it (I have enough says the wife). but it 1-was within a hour drive of the house. 2-it runs,3- it had a title, 4- it wasn't cut up for someones café racer project, and 5-16000 miles if the seller/speedo is to be believed, 6- it was $600. so even if I don't get around to fixin it right away I thought it was a good deal.
Welcome, very nice fleet of rides there....think you have very serious 2 wheel addiction. ..just jealous. $600, good catch
racing season is upon us. took the 700 to the uscra race in may, did the masters race. . have about 10 bikes that are race ready. usually take 4 along and do 4 different races/classes. 125gp (hon rs125) P4 F-1 (yam fz750) form M/W (kaw S3 400) and masters (vf700). next round is june 11/12. probably take 4 different bikes.
