Excuse the dumb question, but were all 2000's black wheeled? I see some with silver.

The gurus in Japan decide what colors things are on their bikes almost all the time in the recent past. We might conclude that certain colors excite or depress the locals where ever they might be. Case in point, any RWB VFR or Harley in Syria.

Maybe the ultimate answer might be grey or gray when somebody finally figures oot the right spelling.

LOL ! That's enough to give anyone funny colored hair. Moving right along now we got the gay problem and the terrible to's.

Just so we don't offend someone again.. A Kodak gray card is a handy-dandy item for any type photography.

Did you mean Gay card? or grey card, surly not gray card. You know the only way to really get around this is by grey hound which shouldn't be confused with gray round,

Been there many times just up the bay via ferry boat LOL, yea this event is kinda under the radar you really needed a connection or two, lucky if you can call it that, to find out at the last minute when it's held. More a case of when the HD dudes find out it turns into a mini Stur the potis. Will say there are some cool rides, and from a long ways off. It's pretty cool since it all started with a couple guys up in N.Seattle on a bike night with their oldie but goodie crowd gathering idea.

I like pulling shades out of the decals for color contrast. The grey out of the Honda wing on the tank would look great on the wheels, but maybe a little too subdued for what you're going for. I like to try to do things that aren't stock, but look like Honda might have done it (maybe for a different market?).

Oh, and I've been to most Isle of Vashon TTs and Tiddler Tours. GTs for sure. So many cool bikes.
And Backfire in Ballard is quite a show too.

I'm with you on that, and my very first thought was to take off with what I had in mind on the 4th gen, it was down to white (I like the 3rd gen look)or gold/bronze, what ever was the closest to the tank wing outline, as they are that gold color on the 4th gens. LOL I was thinking it was the same on the 5th, HA!. Surprise! it's not, it's like you say a light silver grey/gray ;) thing is that color kinda just blends in to much for my liking. I'm with you on making it look like it came that way but with a little bit more bite to it, that's why I'm looking at the Black Ice, It's sorta a compromise. will see, paint is suppose to be in tomorrow.

Can't wait to see. I restored 2 CB-1s at the same time about 15 years ago. One as a side job and one for my wife. Both in 4th gen red. On the side job I did the wheels a gold that I pulled out of the decal. The wheels on the wife's bike were perfect after cleaning them so I left them stock, but added a little extra gold flake to the paint formula for the bodywork. Just a little extra "pop" that you can't quite put your finger on. I used the VFR decals on the tank and tail. Bike came out great, looks like it could be a foreign market CB-1 (just what I was going for).

Not the best shot. Way better in natural light. I wasn't very good about documenting builds (before phones with cameras and forums to post on), I'll see if I have any photos of the "sister" bike I can scan.

Backfire in Ballard is fun. Lots of preening in tropical frog leathers, ...That one sort of took over when Teddy's got sold. We took a count one night in I think in July at Teddy's and there were 500 bikes parked. Once some reporter for the Seattle Times showed up and called the gig "bike night". A few members got pissed.. Even some VME dudes are easily offended.

No Harleys on the Tiddler Tours, that's for sure.. unless somebody shows on one of the golf carts or scooters...

Since this is your thread, here are some of my vintage bikes...
Left to Right: 1967 CL90 (X2), 1965 S65, 1963 CA95 (Benly 150), 1968 CA77 (Dream 305), 1970 CT70HK0 (Trail 70 - 4 spd manual clutch), 1972 Mini Trail 50 (1st year rear suspension). These are original except for seat covers (and some tires) on the CL90s and the Dream 305). The Benly's chrome work is toast, but it polishes up ok and looks good going down the road.

Now That's just to cool. OK you're off the hook....for now. ;) What sorta got me into bikes, not that it wasn't bound to happen any way, but this pushed me further sooner. My neighbor had a 66 Honda 160 twin with one carb in red very similar to the one you have pictured. Crazy bike, I was just into mini bikes at 8 years of age. then he wheels out at that time, an Oh wow bike in my eyes. He gave me a ride and oh my was I hook, he even taught me to give it a try a couple years later. That weird heel toe shifter and brake was a strange one. But mastering the clutch action was where it was all at. What a stroll down memory lane.

Yeah, the CA160 (not technically a Dream). They scoot along pretty damn good. The 150 and 160 rev pretty high (10,500 RPM redline on the 150!) Friend of mine has a 160 he restored. I was recently given a 1 owner late model Benly 150 that I was told was a 160 before it was delivered to me (because it had 160 badges put on it at some point in it's life). I was stoked that I was going to have a 160 too! Oh well.

Some years back a couple Harleys did show for the Tiddler. They weren't publicly shamed enough by people and went on the ride. Friend of mine completely pissed one of them off by repeatedly re-passing and pestering him in the corners on his Sears Allstate 50. "Big" Harley speed on the straights then the typical "skill" in the corners. They finally left early.

350cc is pushing it for the Tiddler. Should be 200cc limit (like it used to be), maybe 250.

One year I was poker referee and this harleydood steps up and was serious about the course having too many turns.. All I could think of at the time was pointing toward Seattle and saying "I-5".

YIKES! ..don't let the guys who race the 160s at PIR know you have one and parts.. they will dog you to death.

I'm sure some of the rides on the Tiddler would offend some of the more sensitive members here.. ;) A true cocours inelegance.
