I'm going to see what other hues he has of that color ... but I might just go that route. It really does look gorgeous in the sunlight.

    Sparkly Rootbeer!

Seen this set up before, Very nice. I found them back when I was trying to convert my 4th gen to a single nut, at that time they weren't letting their secret out for how they did the hub. Now it seems as though they are out of production from what I find, trick set up, but $$$$$$$, still would like to have em.

Man O man, decisions, decisions Love the white wheel look, BUT? OOTV has em ;) jk, it's not the fact that it gets dirty, just doesn't quite flow with the 5th gen as well as a 3rd gen IMO, ehhh maybe, which still has me on the fence. That being these two have me going ????:) just in case you haven't seen these I had previously linked.

Actually BB you are right on this one, but since its the difference between $12 vs $18 per pound their cost and it takes around 1/2 pound maybe per wheel ,not a biggie. Then there on the Bronze I find out more than likely it's a 3 stage process to get it to look like that, then with that he says there could be a gas off problem, he's looking further into what they did to get that bronze the way they did. With the black ice it maybe one shot, he needs to see how the paint goes on, but the guy doing this would like to see the paint as he believes he can add additional pop with a undercoat of some kind. Kinda greek to me, but fun to watch this play out in how stuff happens. Mo mo.. ;) Still in the back of my mind I should go White OML..

I think your guy is talking about shooting the bronze like a candy color with the base coat as a gold and the top coat as a tented clear coat of some kind.

Painting over chrome is not a great idea especially on a vehicle. Powdercoating over chrome is one that I'd need to check out with a pro. Lots of "it depends on's" with that one.

Some colors do cost "mo". A prime example is red. Some paints are 2K a gallon and more and that compadres ain't in pesos or that funny money in Canada with pix of birds on it..;)

Painting is best done starting with a primer, the more coats the more pesos and the chance for mess ups.

A couple of basics that anyone can use:

    1. The color wheel.
    2. The two defining criteria aboot color.. (look this up, I am jonesing for a trip to WalMart) A: Complimentary Colors B:Analogous Colors.

Personally, I stick with hotrod colors for my own stuff.

Be careful..these automotive paints are fantastic. They are also toxic. Think in terms of mixing up some Bondo and what happens. Same deal with these paints. The difference being that they can cook off in your lungs, and kill nerves. This is OK if you have salamander genes and can grow new tails and shit but most of us don't.

Na, no painting over chrome here there's way to many mistakes with how it flows an sticks, can it be done, yea. But at what cost. Then there is the wear factor too, most of these high end jobs are not intended to really take much abuse, tire irons, rock dings, chain crap, dogs peeing etc, so in the process I'm also looking for it to be worthy to be on the wheel for a while looking good the whole time. Last thing needed is during the next tire swap paint shaves off the rims. Done right this shouldn't be an issue by what they are telling me, just need to cover all the bases here, so a pre paint will tells us what its about. On ward mo.

Carrozzeria. Not advertised anymore, but CZ might sell the hub and the modified Ducati 1098 wheel if you threw a bunch of money at them. The front wheel is a CBR model.

Did I mention hot rod colors? Some of those high end jobs are missing the innards in the engine and tranny.

Next Summer a weekend before or after Labor Day, jump on your bike and haul up to Seattle for the Isle of Vashon TT. The actual date is not officially announced for several reasons.. Pix of former gigs on the net.

One great thing aboot throwing money at something is that there is rarely retaliation.

Another one that some old Chinese guy probably said.. ;)
