    Picked it up for $1,800

Everything is perfect, but a rat must have gotten in and eaten the rear taillight wiring as well as a temp sensor wire. Some rat dung in between the cylinder heads, and had to make a key for the ignition (which also came cracked).

Other than that, clean bike and perfect for a project! Original oil filter, air filter, even tires. Now I have two of the same bike :)

Planning on doing a full restore to oem specs, the carburetor is a mess- solid gaskets and gunked up float valves, bowls, etc.

Yes Wow. thing is like you have noticed is a low mile bike actually asks more questions than answers Good luck with the rebuild. Nice find, how did you come across this gem?

I was told the owner bought it original in '94 and shortly thereafter passed away. It sat for years until the next owner (who I bought it from, works at a dealership) picked it up and gave it to his mechanic (shown in pics). Mechanic said it was too much work (funny, considering his shop was filled with ducatis), and the bike was put up for sale. I was the second caller since he posted it, first one wanted to offer a trade. After me his phone was blowing up non-stop so I got lucky :)

My buddy just happened to see it on craigslist and KNEW I would call the seller first and him immediately after to bring his truck

"Two of the same bike." Initial symptoms of a much deeper issue. Ask me how I know.....

I bought a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 450 with 5k miles in May of 2014. If it's rubber take a good look at it!

hmmm, my 1990 VFR and all my other other hondas left me more stranded in the middle of no where than any of my ducatis

Currently got 3 of each in the shed - electrics on my hondas failed just as often as my ducatis

Hold the phone everyone, sell your VFRs and buy a Ducati! Much more reliable bike, repeat, MUCH more reliable bike, we've all got it backwards!

nice. I should have hung onto my 1996. Was a sweet sorted bike by the time that I got rid of it.
