LOL I know a guy in Seattle that owns a sportsbar. He books in "groups". Bunch a young boys standing round in all four corners and the middle of the floor with nothing in their hands but air guitars doing 1-3-5 riffs.

Ever listen to Knofler and Chet Atkins playing together? I swear Atkins has played with just about everyone of every kind of music there is. Watch Atkins all finger plucking action and then watch Jeff beck. Atkins tried to get Beck to use finger picks long ago and it was a disaster but Beck learned to just use his fingers... magic.

10,837.482 gitar players in Nashville. Lots O them "Country Boys" can play anything. The "Classical" guys will fool ya too. Had a next door neighbor who plays guitar. Graduated from the Vienna Conservatory of Music. Bach to Villa Lobos to Hendrix. Then ya got the one's with "the gift" like the really fast guys have. One in particular...Glenn Campbell.

Not a lot of people knew how good Campbell was. Many thought it was just "Hi! I'm Glenn Campball."
Saw Al Di Meola in the 70's when I was mostly into rock n roll. Blew me away, who was this Jazz dude?!

This is Glen Campbell in 1977 in concert in UK:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-He-zb3Tmg

The music biz some times is a little too "biz" and puts great players into little niches that hide their talents. Not so with Glen Campbell. On this vid he does the soliloquy "My Bill" from Carousel.

Like Campbell, many of the Jazz players are studio guys too.

That song was originally written and performed my a farmer from south west Manitoba. It was first titled Grindstone Plowboy. Didn t sell so they re-titled it.

Talking about geeetarr players. Guthrie Govan is probably the most overall talented dude on the planet. He can approach pretty much any genre at a virtuoso level, the amount of techniques he's got down is ridiculous.

Ah a little Erotic Cakes. He reminds me of a young Joe Satriani. There are a few in their early 40's that are exceptional. Still think Jeff Beck is at the top though. Many are faster but he is truly an alien.
I like how Guthrie uses a pick and his fingers at the same time.

I have been fortunate to have been to both of Eric Clapton's Crossroads festivals. The first in Texas was 2 days and I had press passes, just unbelievable to lean against the stage taking photos of some of the greatest guitarists in the world. The other one was in Chicago, 1 day event that was fantastic too.

They had to almost drag Buddy Guy off stage. JJ Cale was showing his wear and tear. And Doyal Bromhall 2 is just a freak, playing upside down and left handed. His work with Clapton and Roger Waters is awesome.

Why is it that a guitarist, when playing high notes, either looks like he is getting shocked from his guitar, or is having a spontanious ejaculation?
