Santa brought me a Pitbull Front stand.

For that purpose I use a set of eye hooks mounted to the rafters with a ratchet tie down looped under the frame of the bike. However, if I need to remove the wheel and/or forks, the front stand comes in handy, especially if I have to store it out of the way. Here is my Duc stored under the shelf that's in my garage, while the forks get sent out to JD for an update.

Just get a 1'x1' piece of thick plywood and use that under the center stand. Should make up the extra height.
