Just wonder if that is a good price-$306 for a PR4. These should work well where I am in rainy type weather.. It doesn't usually get real hot here.

Check Jakewilson.com, they always seem to have the best prices on tires. If the price you have is cheaper than JW, then I'd grab them. That's my two cents.

My welfare cheques arrived into my account early this time of year so I am going to order tires. That last PR4 rear tire did not seem to last really that well but I will crunch the numbers when I get the new one, be it PR4 or PR2. Usually I am in favour of replacing both but now that I'm on limited fixed income, I have to rethink a lot of the ways I do things. My front is still looking pretty good.

Regardless of what I do, with $1.00 Canadian only worth $.70 USD, it is unlikely I will be buying anyth9ing from a US supplier for a while. Too bad. I used to order quite a few things from sources down there.

EDIT: BTW. I have not let the rear tire get as horrible as I did a couple years ago. I still have about 1/32" at the wear bars which makes it legal, just not wise.

I remember you mentioning that to me before when I was looking then...a few months ago. But I found so far, the best deal, considering shipping and what not, seemed to be with Pete's Superbike out of Quebec. I have bought from them before. But before I actually buy, I will do the research again. Bayside is not bad either but I would have to pick them up in Vancouver last time I checked. I bought new helmet liners from Canada's Motorcycle and was pleased not only with the price, but the fast service.

I usually get stuff within 2-3 days of placing my order.

I had never heard of / used Pete's before ... on the PR2s they are actually about $18 cheaper than from Canada's Motorcycle. That said, your shipping costs might be more whereas Canada's Motorcycle ships for free. Might be a wash for you.

Doing some looking around - the two stores are very comparable on a lot of things, one or the other has slightly better pricing on certain items. Thanks for sharing, I now have an alternate!

Turns out Jeff, Canada's Motorcycle works out cheapest on this side of the 49th. Their price is higher but free shipping so works out about $.75 cheaper than the next cheapest, Pete's Superbike. This time around, Bayside was out of the picture being about $60.00 more. Talking just the rear tire this time around.
    Ordered.

The moment I get this on, I am going to go out on the road and just crank on the throttle......WHOOOOPIEEEE!

Ya. I think if the shipping and handling is free, the product tends to be just that much higher. I have used Bayside Performance before, but they are right up there in costs this time around. So Canada Motorcycle it was. Can't change things now. They and maybe all those new fucking hackers out there have my card number.

This is next on my list:

    I guess , I don't really care any more, I am rich, so I don't care anymore
I only now buy the best in the world at anything I buy-price is no concern anymore
I consider anything with the vfr all ready low deal-its the best deal all ready.

I figured the shipping cost would come into play with you being out on the West coast.

Not as fancy as the one you've listed, but this is the one (in black) I got as replacement after the accident and like it quite a bit. Too cold for early / late season though, I'm looking for a potential second jacket for those months along with a heated liner.

I had a JR textile jacket. Was my first so called rainproof jacket. It failed pretty bad in that department. It was a nice jacket otherwise. But that wasn't good enough. I wanted to stay dry.

Vancouved motocops wear Olympia and my friend says he stays dry. Mind you, they ride harleys that won't run in the rain so who knows.

LOL ... yah, those HD guys don't do rain. ;)

I have an actual rain suit that I slip on when it starts raining. It keeps me warm and dry.

I find that multi-condition rain proof gear doesn't breathe as well (no matter the brand / materials) and I start overheating in the summer. I usually buy separate rain gear that will fit over my normal gear quickly if it starts to pour.

One of the most important thing a street tire does is warm up fast in cold weather, my dunlops slide out on my Christmas ride-not too bad, but that told me they are garbage in wet weather. Any tire does well in dry- what it does in bad wet cold weather is most important-nothing worse then dumping a bike because of lousy tires :whoo:

Ya. Mine came with Dumblops new and they were just absolute crap. Then again, most new vehicles come with cheap rubber. So I upgraded to a bigher grade Dumblops. Still crap. That was enough of that shit. It has been Michelins ever since. 2 or 3 sets of PR2, one set of PR3, and now about to put on my second PRR rear. For my riding, I don't think they meet all the hype, but over all, generally speaking, they have been good. That's comparing the 3 and 4 to the 2 that is.

Agreed. This jacket comes with a removable rain resistant liner you can wear under or over. Has a hood on it too. I never ride multi day rides without packing rain gear.

Oh nice, I'll have to look into those jackets further .... I'm looking for an early / late season jacket that doesn't let air in like my current one does. :)

306$ is the lowest so far for PR4, perhaps a new year sale might be lower.

Not everything is cheaper on eBay BTW, I was looking for what I thought was an out of production piece for my 1995 Ducati 900SS. A used front turn signal lens was going for $80, there were a couple of them but the $80 was the cheapest. On a whim I stopped in at the Ducati dealer in Newport Beach and the same lens new was $45!

I've even seen leather suits cheaper elsewhere than on eBay, of course it's all in what you're looking for I guess.
