Welcome to the MadHouse - Bikermouse:welcome:

When you get a chance please drop by the Introductions section of the Forum and say Hi to the rest of the folks on here and add a photo or two (click the insert image icon and follow the prompts) of your VFR or you may get folks raggin on you. You may also want to update your forum profile (Forum Actions: Edit profile) to include the specs of your VFR and an approximate location city/country is fine - that way if you really need help with a problem the information will appear automatically alongside your posts and you may find someone willing to swing by and offer help - especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge:drink:.

    Take care ATGATT

Recently turned 60 and retired from work. Bought my first VFR a couple of weeks ago to replace an ageing ST1100,and as a retirement gift to myself.... Been riding for about 40 years, and see no reason to stop anytime soon.

I will turn 72 next month and I have just purchased a blue 2000 VFR800. I will do all the fluids and inspections before launching in April.
First mod will be a Lush Racing lowering kit, as I am on the shorter side.

By for now from Vancouver Canada

I'm 53 years old and I'm driving a ´99 VFR. I don´t think I´m too old for that kind of bike.
I´m a member of a VFR-club where many of the members are at my age or even older.

Thanks Duccmann for your detailed kickstand info.

How much would you recommend I remove from the kickstand?

    Cheers

One guy I regularly tour with the last 14 years is near 60, he has no problem doing our 4 day road trips 600 to 700km days to and around our Alpine regions on his stock GSXR1000.

941web.jpg I just got a 2014VFR800 to replace my aging VTR1000. This is more mellow as befits my 72 years, but I think it'll be a good long-haul choice. It does get a lot of compliments, which is kind of nice. BTW, I bought an earlier VFR back in '83, sight unseen, just based on race reports. Now, that sucker was hot, eating cams on a regular basis.

yEAH, i won't be 72 until February, unless an unrfortunbate myocardial fraction takes me out. VFRs (1986 and after) did NOT have cam erosion issues !!
