Rich was on Aurora Ave. (highway 99) in Seattle for years. He moved his shop to Kingston after building a new house, shop and apartments for overnight guests having seats made.

Prices vary. Rich makes seats for "Big Dog" bikes, now does some mail order, saves used OEM seat covers and cookie cutter covers for DIYers Everything is custom from the way the seat fits the customer to the fabric the design and the colors used. Materials vary in price. Leather is more than most synthetics, Some synthetics and leathers come in colors, some colors are more than others.

I have four seats from Rich. The VFR has a gel pad, the BMW seat is leather and the seat (s) for the SR500, one is sort of plain and the other is tuck and roll.

I have no comparison to show the differences in pricing for one of Rich's seats and one of the cookie cutter seats. I know I sent a Corbin back to Corbin three times on the BMW and on the third round they had secured the seat to the steel seat pan with fucking drywall screws. The leather seat Rich made for me Beemer is now aboot the same age as the mach 1 91, the world's fastest VFR , that is if y'all believe everything you read or hear on the net... aboot motorcycles..

I don't see how anyone would be able to draw a price or quality comparison between a mass produced seat and a custom fitted seat. That would be like comparing Budweiser with a local craft beer. Corbin and Sargent make a higher end seat than the stock seat, but even though they are building for the more picky after market crowd, they are still building them for the masses. So sometime, somewhere in their design process, they found what they believe to be a better seat for more than not. Whereas, with Rich's, and I am sure others, the seat is built for your individual toosh. It may fit others but I am sure one hell of a lot fewer than the big boys seats.

Getting one done by him is still on my wish list.

The pricing is not something I want to get into even though Rich and I go back years. I had a piece of a business in the same building when he was in Seattle. Rich is a good guy and knows his stuff..

The only offer I could make is maybe I could get SOW a small discount on a seat with a buttplug.
