It's been a while due to having to buy & rebuild my engine in my project car. Was hoping to have this bike sold this summer, but there's always next summer.

Been working on the paint on and off. Tank is near done, a lot of wet sanding and repainting. Needs a good buff before I put the stickers on.

Got new battery and hoping to start testing mechanicals soon. Still need to work on making temp gauge as well as fix the erratic tach and some wiring issues.

I bought a 12"x12" piece of heat reflecting material on Amazon, an put 3 strips on the chin fairing, in-between the Vance & Hines pipes and the fairing. They burned a hole through the right side on my old fairing. Seem to be working fine on the new repainted one.

Only one of the brakes worked so I rebuilt all of them. I think there's an air bubble in the banjo bolt, due to the Magna master cylinder positioning. Doesn't feel firm compared to the clutch. Have to pump the handle to get the front brakes to lock the tire. The Interceptor and Magna share the same piston diameters, so I am pretty sure it's displacing the same amount of fluid.

Remove mc from bars and hold it so it's pointing up with a direct path upward from line and banjo, and tap the line and mc to dislodge bubbles.

Was in the process of doing just that. Brakes firmed right up, thanks. Going to get some bleeder banjo bolts so this doesn't happen again.

Starting to make progress again =D

Got the brakes and clutch working properly. Battery was draining when I let the bike set for a few nights over summer, have not been looking forward to diagnosing it =P

Was cheaper to buy new mirrors than replace the glass in the old ones. Also, replaced the turn signals to make the tail look slimmer. Going to rewire the new tail lights to get rid of the cheap chinese wiring [the housing got stuck on the drill press and jacked the wires up =P] and probably replace all the tail bulbs with LEDs.

Still need to buff and repack the mufflers...

Past week or two, rewired the fuse box, deleted the tail/stop sensor and replaced fuel pump relay with a jumper wire. Buffed out the mufflers and repacked. Tires have already started to crack and I haven't put a mile on it yet. Very picky on idle, always messing with the choke and really have to play with the throttle on launch, a little more than I would think.
Finally took the bike for a ride =D

The chinese tach I bought looks great but does not function. Tach is all over the place and speed doesn't register are the main problems. Most likely I will go back to a mechanical speedometer, will need to replace the drive unit I modified. Was looking at a CB speedo but couldn't find a fuel and temp gauge to go with it. Went back to the junk bin and thought I would try to modify the OEM instrument cluster, just to see if I can make it work before I start blowing cash on alternatives. Without tach I will paint shift dots on the speedo, just need to find the information.
