I'm working on a 1993 Honda VFR750 I just purchased Saturday. It's painted this terrible yellow color so I'm working on tearing it apart to paint white as it should be.

There's a weird thing on my fairing. I hope the pictures post. The cables went to headlight I imagine to adjust but I haven't seen this on any other 93 VFR.

Love the bike so far and rapidly working on it in case in future its warm this winter.

If your bike is a US model, it was red when imported.

I thought 93's were white. Oh well I hate red so will be white.

The 93 US model was Pearl Crystal White (NH193P). The correct paint is available from color rite. Base, pearl, clear in urethane. Toyota has a crystal white that is CLOSE, but not exact.

And the left fairing did not have a headlight adjuster. Those are weird. But it is a great place for a voltmeter. Again, not standard.

Great minds think a like. I'm just going to pull that stuff off and put a voltmeter there. I have some Honda champion white I think it's called from something else I painted. I plan to use that.

I hope I can paint this bike better than my last paint job. Still gives me practice for when I paint my Barracuda this spring

You got a European model, those cables go to a manual petcock where you can switch from main tank to reserve. On our models that plate is vacant (un-used) and we rely on just an ON/OFF petcock that mostly always stays on unless your going to do service on the bike; as you have to remove the seat to gain access to the petcock.

All this talk about petcocks will get SOW all worked up into a lather, I am sure he/she will poke its' snout into this post. Cheers, btw ColorRite does a good job, painted my other Viffer and the match was pretty decent.

If you're trying to do it with rattlecans, there is matching paint available at Amazon here. I did one of my upper cowls with it and was happy with the result. It might be kind of steep to do a whole bike, though, maybe 4 or 5 of these kits.

Two thumbs up on the white. Need to splurge and get the OEM crystal pearl white though. Very sharp.

It's the '90-Italian red, with the beguiling white spokes you' thinking of.

White is the absence of red.

    I'm making progress I promise.

Sanded all the plastics but not tank yet. I have more work to do there but will paint in dad's garage so just working on those here and there. Winter is coming and his heater only keeps major chill out.

I pulled the rear plugs and found that the bike seems to be running rich. Working on pulling the radiator to get at front plugs, luckily I'm changing coolant anyway. I ordered a factory thermostat and o-ring for the bike.

I did get lucky at one part of the bike. Found a work order PO had work order to rebuild clutch slave cylinder. I did have some shifting issues though. For such a good transmission frustrating they cheaped out on shifter parts. They also replaced most of the wiring but did find a burnt connector so I still have some wiring to do.

Can't wait to get to fun stuff. I'm going to go 520 chain and different gearing.

I'm having some fun learning a motorcycle though. Not a huge change I guess from cars LOL

You think Honda was "caving in" to the rainbow crowd? I ended up with a "white" one. Looks pretty good with the blue seat cover I ordered. My fussy cousin was impressed with the "white" one over my original "black" one. Go ahead and twist this into something  eRmember my sweet mother used to call that black bike hers she loves bikes. Both these bikes have different personalities btw, the 93 pops on de-cell and sounds like a houligan, has a nice power pulse on the highway too. The 91 is smooth as velvet and does not so much as fart, and if it does, roses come out of the tail pipe. It's a high mileage unit that has sentimental value and gets a yealy oil change unfortunately. Stay Cool

My 91 (the famous mach 1 91) is orange and black. My mom liked Harleys and Chubby Checker..
