Today I received my bar risers from MOTOPUMPS. Thanks. MP. Very nice quality and fast shipping. I attached some pics after the 10 min Install. Question I had and see if anyone else out there with these from MP Have the gaps on the top and bottom of the risers. I don't see it being an issue. Just wondering if that is the way it is or is it supposed to be flush on both sides. After I saw it I went back took the bolts back out tried to reseat it. No change. Either way looks good and feels comfortable. Have not had her out for a ride yet. [IMG]
Also relocated my state inspection plate. Didn't want to sticker on the fork or anywhere on the plastic. And I'm sure since it can be taken off the bike if I ever get pulled over someone may have an issue. If they are really looking hard. Anyway it looks like it belongs. That's what I did with my VFR today.

I just looked and I have the same gaps, guess that is the way it should be.

I fitted my EBC HH pads to the CBR600F4i front brakes, and also cleaned up the discs (again) with a scotchbrite pad and brake cleaner. Initially I was not too happy, still had a fairly wooden feel and a fair bit of judder. After a 50 km ride to bed in the brakes it was obvious that I wasn't getting particularly good contact between the disc and pad as some areas looked polished and others dull. Closer inspection shows that the CBR calipers mate with more of the disc surface than the VFR (I did check that the 600 and 800 disc part numbers are the same) and my 91000km discs are a bit worn with high spots at the rim and near the bobbins, although at 4.14mm they're still well inside the srvice limit.

After a 200km ride yesterday the brakes are coming good as the new pads mate into the disc surface, the judder is mostly gone and there is seriously good feel and power. So there's a tip for people who complain about brake judder after fitting new pads, just give them some time to bed in. I did check the disc run-out (0.06mm) so I know its not perfect but that is pretty good for the bike's age.

I screamed in my helmet all the way.

Nothing to the bike itself, but I'm working hard on procuring an 8-spoke for the rear...

Okay, been looking at eBay for an eight spoker...no luck, can't seem to copy this craiglist add 93 VF750 that's been In the Ventura CA motorcycle section for ever (since summer), but the seller said parts bike...no fairings...maybe instead of selling the whole bike $675... he will part out the 8 spoker....worth a shot.
    Good luck

Took the red VFR scooter for a 500km ride through the country side.
    Flawless as ever.
    Shame about the rider.
I rode for 50km on the freeway in fifth gear. Thought the high revs were due to the 15t front sprocket. Doh.

Well, rainy and crappy day so no riding but was able to get out and get the chain tightened and the Genmar risers on. Finally found torque wrench other day so all tightened to spec. Genmars were easy install. I did notice the change in rider position but only a ride will tell if this solution works. Install looks good and factory like and good quality pieces. I did unscrew the screws they use as guide pins and put some threadlock on them just to be sure. Before and after pics below.

Well it wasn't today but on Friday, I rode my VFR over to the DStore in Costa Mesa. I did a little project over there the week before and wanted to make sure everything was working as they had an Grand Re-Opening event on Saturday (12/12/15). I went in and made sure everything was operational and showed a few of the employees how the system worked. As I was leaving the manager asked if I was going to make the Saturday event. I told him I couldn't so he then suggest that I come back later that night as they were hosting an "industry" party, meaning only people in the motorcycle industry would be attending/invited. SURE, no need to ask me twice.

Well, I show up around 6:30PM and the place is packed, so I make my to the food and beverages (read: Finger food with Beer and wine) and begin to settle in. Most of the people there are either from local dealerships, magazines or from Dainese, however...there was a few racers and ex-racers there too. I saw Nicky Hayden, Tom Sykes (Who was going to be doing an autograph session on Saturday) and Scott Russell. There were a couple of other amateur racers as well and one very famous one, Eddie Lawson! Dainese actually flew in Tom Sykes for the event but the others had shown up at their own expense from what I was told. Nicky Hayden actually has a place in Orange County and from what I hear stops in a few times a year just to say hi. I was trying to get a pic or two with the Nicky and some of the others but you can imagine they were being bombarded by photo takers.

I was actually able to get a face to face talk with Scott Russell and found out that he will no longer being doing the race reporting but his replacement would be Colin Edwards!

They took a group photo but an elbow got in the way so a couple of people on the left got blocked! The little cutie between Nicky and Tom is Nicky's girlfriend. From what I hear, she's in the reality TV show 'Tequila Sisters'.

Scott and Tom were quite busy getting there pictures taken. Sometimes together and...

    Other times alone.

How can you beat a post like that!

Took the 8th gen out today for her 1st anniversary, little nippy but sunny. We are finally getting some rain every couple of days, so you got to grab a ride when you can.
