Really sow? Try 28 degree weather and see how you like that. I've ridden on roads that were frosted over and completely white on my '84. Do not put all your faith in ABS, you might get a rude awakening.

What kind of temps is he riding in? What part of the USA is he in? Looks pretty warm there to me ....

I'm riding in temperatures just below / above freezing right now ... there is frost on the road where the trees shade it all day. If I had studded tires like my friends KLR, I'd ride all winter if I could. Sadly, we normally get several feet of snow here. This has been the mildest winter we've had on record.

I am uncomfortable when it gets below freezing. That's just me. I love to ride in anything over that.

I'm ignorant about the WD 40, what purpose does it have for cold weather?

I don't mind riding around or even a bit below the freezing mark but here in Southern Ontario they are using more and more of the liquid brine on the roads to help with the ice. That crap is slippery as hell, I almost lost it once last winter riding home from work when it was about 10 degrees out and it was supposed to go down below freezing overnight. I thought the road was just wet and put a moderate lean in a corner and felt both wheels sliding out on me. Don't know how I didn't drop it ( I think my sphincter still has bruising from the clamping force applied). They need to put up warning signs when they apply that stuff, 4 wheels not so bad, 2 wheels is an accident waiting to happen.
I've never felt the need for heated grips as my winter gloves keep my hands warm enough. Almost wouldn't mind some hand guards to keep the driving rain off the hands though, just haven't ever seen any I would like to put on the bike.

I am not sure what they are using there, but back when I was commuting to and from work through the winter here, I was never so happy as I was when they started using that brine, rather than rock salt on the roads here. I didn't find it slippery in the slightest. I found that the brine was readily spread by traffic on the road and therefore completely covered the surface. On a clear calm sub freezing night, frost would not set up on the roads. With rock salt, too much of that was blown off the road by traffic and ice would set up quite easily. I had never had an episode of slipping on that stuff but pinched the rectal muscles a few times when they were still using rock salt. Now when I got caught in heavy snow, it did not matter. Down I went. But not hard.

Maybe your people use a less strong brine and it starts to freeze. Or someone fukt up mixing it.

SOW may be huffing that WD 40 using one of those little plastic tubes up each nostril. Consider that he may have moved to OZ if he's riding at this time of year. This is doubtful though since OZ has strict rules against who they let in after realizing that that Statue of Liberty shit many here still think is cool, ain't.

Yes thank you for making the #1 most useless post, I don't think I can match that any time soon:faint
I may put new pr4's tires on-I here they are good for 23 degrees and have a much better tread patter-my current tires are done at 32 for sure and they are made for summer and only have maybe a 1000 miles on them
