Why ask about anything? To gain the knowledge, because knowledge is cool.

Nearfreezing's link may have nailed it but I bet there are dozens of dudes on here if they got on a Moto-GP bike could lean even more.

Any pix of hanging off on straightaways?

That's why I asked. I was also seeking knowledge and putting in my opinion, tongue in cheek as it was.

    Ah touché.

There are so many instances here where people say, "Why are you asking this question?", and they are serious, and they drive the conversation or solution in a different direction. I know I have become hyper sensitive to people misdirecting when they do not think my line of thinking is important.

The leaning guy is downright funny, thanks for that. At least I got part of it. :tranquillity:

That's cool. Freddy has such a weird crossed up style! He was fast for sure, but he did it in a weird way.

    Yeah I know---crummy body position---but I vote for 42 degrees, maybe a tad more.
Also please note----this VFR has altered ride height!
(The front has been lowered 8mm and the rear is raised 20mm)

All I know is that for me to lean any further than I already am, I'll need to get suspension work done to hold up my weight, as I am scraping the header, thus my suspension is compressing too much.

Not sure of the angle but its definitely less than just tipping the bike over and seeing where hard parts touch, suspension compression changes all the time with a myriad of factors. (Tires, temp, surface, camber and on and on). I rode my VFR with a set of slicks off my track bike for near 1000 miles. I did not trust them unless I had been riding a little aggressive for a while and they had a little heat in them. You can scrap hard stuff very easily on a 6th gen VFR. Fun.

Yeah, I think I'm going to shim my rear a little higher. I have 4 mm now, I think I'll add another 4. Then I'll excitement with raising the triple back to stock height.

So you dropped the front in the triple tree to help turn in? Going back up in the triple and shimming the rear will give you a lot more ground clearance. One of these days I'll upgrade the vfr suspension. It seems to be the only week point on the bike. But the track bike has all the money in suspension for now and the Ohlin forks are due for an overhaul, the Wsbk valving and fork seals need it.

When I was at the track last was when I was scraping the exhaust header the suspension was in stock position. I haven't scraped since I altered the position, but I'm all for more clearance. The 4mm I shimmed the rear is what made the most profound difference. Maybe I'll shim it some more just to see what changes.
