I have an issue where sometimes my bike would start and sometimes it wouldn't. with the seat off and one hand hitting the starter button and the other moving around the wires by the starter/relay I narrowed it down to the connection between the starter/relay and main wire, specifically the red connector that plugs into the starter relay.it is burnt up and the wires are crumbling.i ordered a new starter/relay but how do I go about getting that red connector.it looks to me that it is part of the main wiring harness.does anyone know of an easy fix for this? I thought to buy a used harness and just splice the new red connector in place of the old one.will this work? any help to get me back on the road is appreciated.

On my Supersport from memory, when I was chasing an electrical misfire cause, I just fitted spade connectors to the loom wires for the solonoid plug. Might not suit the perfectionist but sure works fine

perfect! part is ordered already.the mistake I made was to look at the oem parts list and then assume that I would have to buy the whole wiring harness to get that plug.10 years with my vfr and this is the first issue I had with it besides regular maintenance.love the bike and glad I joined vfrworld.thanks!!
