I think it would really be a good idea to add another nut to those adjusters and maybe some hash marks too.

Jason, I hope you continue posting updates on your swing arm. I personally would not extend the swing arm like you are, but I do plan on modifying mine. I bought a CBR900 swing arm to use and somehow adapt parts of it to mine. Haven't decided exactly what or how yet...I was originally just going to cut off and weld-on the upper brace part of it, but I like the axle/adjusters on the 900 and wouldn't mind using that whole back end...it'll be used for (vintage)racing, so it has to be done/welded properly...

    Cheers,

    Tim

Hey Tim, this thread got hijacked so I don't pay it much attention. The whole forum seems to be a "free for all" with no rules or regulations.

What's wrong with cutting up a good bike as long as you make it a more awesome bike?
It only sucks if it comes up short. I have a couple that have been modded beyond recogniton- I dig them.

^^ What's wrong is that VFR isn't any average bike and, except for the suspension, needs little-to-no improvement or modification due to Honda's continuous improvement of the model over the years. Unless you have a degree in ME or similar, your mods may undo alot of fine technology.

Better candidates for radical mods are those bikes that were never as close to top technology as a VFR, i.e., a non-Honda.

ahhh- I've been undoing things for years!!
It all depends on what your objective and perspective is: JasonWW may think his bike looks groovy- who am I to judge? I wouldn't do it but I sure can't throw stones.
The only thing you could do would be to buy it and "save" it.

I have a pile of stuff in the corner that I thought I'd put on the VFR but now for some reason I think I want to keep it stock- except for the Yosh pipe.

However the Ducati and My Indian's didn't escape- nor did the Vic...

Haha this was a good read. Nothing like a good ole fashioned squid shaming.
Funny how Havok got so butthurt and immediately classified this whole forum as "stock is king" and "squares", when there are more top notch build threads on this forum than any other bike page I have ever seen.
If you like a good build, VFRD is a great place to be, but if you are a butthurt squid thats idea of a bike build is sawing off your tail, you are not going to have a good time here.

Haha oops, yes vfrworld my bad. I keep both pages open, right next to each other on my browser at work, so I get them mixed up.
Well this is making more sense now. Yes there are more great build threads and less squid shit shows on vfrd.
Anyways, I think I speak for 99% of vfrworld/vfrd when I say, we are totally okay with losing havok :)

Awesome is in the mind of the awed and worked to death by
by millenialboppers. I digress. The question for those of us who are only somewhat conversant with reverse engineering is how the heck does one come up short by making a swingarm longer?

Also would you chop a Crocker? I don't think so..

Thanks, English is not my native language. Coming up short is the way we, in my country refer to midgets. Sort of like you Americanos refer to Indians as Native Americans.

I try to get oot as much as possible. I made three trips to WalMart already with three more days left in the week.
