    Hi all

New 2015 vfr800f ordered and will be in my garage on the 1st of November. Not new to the VFR, had a 2009 vtec and then a 2010 1200 the following year. Sold the 800 too soon and lured by the new 1200 but now returning to the 800. Very impressed with the vfr800. Glad to be back.

I am 51, been riding for over 30 years, had them all really but hopefully calming down, my other ride is. 2014 Triumph Thunderbird LT. Live in Scotland and have had a lifetime of great bikes.

    Take care and ride safe

    PAUL

    Hi Paul,

How was your experience with the 1200? Why get rid of it?

    Hi Knight

The 1200 was a good bike, did 500 miles in a day and could have done it all over again, mines was one of the first, fueling at times could be dangerous, fuel range was silly even for a sports tourer, my partner was not happy on the back of it so I bought a pan and eventually the 1200 was surplus to requirements.

Now I hear you say but what was wrong with the pan, answer would be nothing it was a brilliant bike and ran it for 4 years but it just never lit my life up when I opened the garage door so traded it in for the Triumph Thunderbird LT (I have a love of cruisers).

I always regretted losing the 800 to the 1200 and wished I had kept it. So lucky I have the chance again and I really love the look of the new one. I want a do it all, every day bike, I had a tiger 800 and loved it but I decided to get rid of my zx10r and the tiger and reduce them to one bike that could do it all but still keep me in my leathers.

I had to look up the Pan, apparently we call it just ST1300 here in the US.

I get a lot of good insight from you experienced guys. From the comments I have read it certainly seems that just about everyone who has owned a VFR800 regrets getting rid it it. Seeing all of those regrets makes me respect my new-to-me bike even more.

Sorry, yes ST1300, I always felt it was a bigger VFR 800 with the handicap of even more weight. But the ST1300 is a limousine of a motorcycle, a grand machine and of course another V4. As a riding machine it was amazing but I am glad I got my LT in its place, I open the garage with such excitement these days :love-struck::love-struck:

Well the new bike is being delivered on Wednesday, unfortunately I had some heart surgery in August and I won't be able to ride until next year but I will be able to polish and sit on it at least. Roll on next year.

Send me tickets and give me haggis and scotch. I will fly over there and nicely break it in for you. Just picked up a nice Glenn Morangie 18 year old that is screaming at me from behind the cupboard doors.

Was over your way a few years back. Pleaded with the bus tour operator to stop here:

    The bastard refused.

But we spent a couple days across the bay from you.

:tickled_pink: I did consider a black one, pictures and videos do not do the colour justice, in the flesh it is one of the most stunning reds I have ever seen, that and the profile of the new shape of the bike, helped by the radiators being moved to the front. Stunning. I test rode a white one and the paint in the sunlight was also very impressive.

Nice. I also was bit by the VFR bug back when I bought my 1 st gen. I owned a 87 VFR, and sold it. Bought a cruiser (won't name the brand I'm ashamed) and rode it a couple years. Every day I thought of my VFRs. I may own other bikes but there will always be a VFR in the stable till I'm gone.

I wish Honda had kept the under tail exhaust. Nice and symmetrical, plus, it would show off that beautiful rim. Just not a fan of that exhaust can hanging down there.

Welcome Paul, nice that you came to your senses and found and bought what you really loved.
My first was a new 84 INTERCEPTOR, had a few bikes threw out the years but finally came full circle with my 02....hope the heart surgery went well..you have a long wait but it will be worth it...
Now put a cover on that babe :)....so lets take a bet at what mods you do before next years riding season starts...I'll start with a slip on ....

Yes I liked the underseat cans too, I agree. But I still love the shape of the new bike more. I had an A9 model before.
