Stay in the back, Jack. Rossi's appeal denied. Of course no action against Marquez, even though FIM admitted he was holding Rossi back on purpose, nor against Lorenzo for passing on a yellow.

I read that this morning. Not surprising, they Almost never overturn. Rossi will have to ride the race of his life. I give him about 2% chance. But maybe crazy Joe will take out JL while screaming go Italy.

The difference between MM and VR is that MM was not racing against the rules of MotoGP but rather an unwritten rule among racers...'Do not interfere with a rider who is in the running for the championship'. In essence, he broke a rider's rule but not a MotoGP rule so he cannot be punished my RD. Rossi on the other hand, slowed and nearly stopped on the track, which ended up with MM crashing out. Whether MM received a kick or not, it was Rossi's action that RD had an issue with. If you think about it, when slowing down on the race line in practice can get you a point on your license, which Rossi got just prior actually, why would they not penalize you for nearly stopping on the track during an actual race. As far as JL goes, RD should knock his place down one and take the points of of his current total.

As much as I thought that Rossi's chances were slim to none, there have been many cases where a rider at the end of the grid or from pit lane has come back and come back strong, ironically MM is one them so is Pedrosa. So if Rossi is indeed the GOAT, then he should be able to do it as well. At least that's the way I see it. It would also be a huge feather in his cap if he did.

The various sanctioning bodies are for the most part political in nature. They are not aboot to kick any of the fast guys to the curb. Follow the pesos..

The politics and following the bucks is not new nor particularly centered in road racing. There was a time in the 1960's when the President of the AMA was also the PR dude for HD.. Going back even further, the history of the HD's early in the century Wrecking Crew was mostly about bucks. A replication of that one would be similar to all the really fast guys riding for one marque.

For an overview, check out all the bikes in US History that have come and gone since somebody figured oot how to stuff an engine into a bicycle frame.

Right now the whole deal is in the hands of a shitload of old and very rich Spanish dudes. Not the best of worlds but who ya gonna turn it over to? The Chinese? Some oil dude from Dubai? SOW?

Forget SOW. I was having a frivolous moment.

With Whore-gay in pole position and his tendency for walking away from the pack if he gets a good start, which he so often does, I gotta say it's not looking good for Rossi. Then again, the race is 30 laps long and anything can happen...

So if MM starts dicing it up with JL, does that mean he's rooting for Rossi now?

This is JL's track though Pedro has a great record here. Rossi not so much. Seeing JL's race pace I'd say Rossi has about a <2% chance. Rossi's only hope is the 20 million he paid crazy Joe to take out JL in turn 1. lol

With all this expertise on line I am surprised they even have to have a race to pick the winners.

Just watched "Road" on Netflix, the story of the Irish Dunlop family of road racers, Joey, Robert, William & Michael. One of the best MC films I've seen, narrated by Liam Neeson. Very difficult to watch at times.

Great footage of great racing, but also a very intimate look at how the family dealt with the tragedies.

Anyone catch the final race? Or the mad ramblings of a VR post race conference? Gotta say I'm not impressed with the way VR is handling himself lately!
