Anyone else talking RACING?! <--- of the motorcycle type

WSBK Quatar race 1 was almost a similar race to Philip Island in combination with Motegi, multi-rider fight and an unexpected winner. Definitely one to watch too.

 

Got home around midnight from some amazing riding the VFR with my girlfriend in Tennessee and North Carolina. Watched the race at around 1 am. When the big boys take off the gloves and swing all race long you have probably the best race in 10 years. That track is so Fing fast too with all kinds of passing opportunities. 5th gear sweepers like Stoner's are a blast. L heights and Doohan corner...... Great stuff. Crazy Joe (who is good friends with Rossi) is helping the Duc become relevant again. Great race. Going to watch WSBK tonight and hopefull Moto 2&3.

 

Not to spoil it, although it looks like he head butted it, the seagull actually hit his front fairing. You can see the hole it made in the fairing.

Just another reason as to why I have never been a Rossi supporter.

 

Rossi is probably pissed to some degree. He also has a long history with jabbing and joking with them and getting in their head. I don't care if you don't like him, I will always like him.

 

It would appear that "them" are in his head......If you didn't care what I thought, why would you........nevermind :thumbsup: Just in case you might wanna know...i'm thinking Vinales, on a Honda, when Dani retires.

 

It would be cool to see Dani win a championship before he retires! Vignales is getting a lot of attention lately, his 6th place finish at PI surely helped some too! I think he could do some good on a factory Honda.

 

The seasons final 2 races in WSB were a real game changer, the season long domination of the Kawasakis of Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes ended with a double win for the Aprilia team, Torres pushed Rea to the limits of the bikes performance as they raced under the lights in Quatar, race 2 was even better, Chas Davies had the Ducati Panigale flying like it had been promising to do all season, with Leon Haslam on the other Aprilia chasing hard and overtaking on the main straight for the final few laps, Haslam couldn't slow the heavier Aprilia enough to hold the Ducati in 2nd at the end of the straight with steel discs, Davies flew past every time, with the gap getting smaller every lap

Haslam eventually used his head and positioned himself perfectly to get the drive out of the last corner and took the win

This was some of the best racing of the season and leaves the field wide open for next season with many teams and riders swapping machines, the Aprilia is certainly the bike to beat, the way it shot past the bigger capacity Panigale was a revelation

In the press conference it did appear to be joking but post press conference he got a little more serious. Maybe it's his way of getting in MM's head but it seems more vindictive than that.

Here's my prediction, if Rossi loses the championship this year and MM is anywhere near Rossi in these last two races, my bet is that he'll say "I told you so" and claim MM didn't play fair and MM was instrumental in him losing the championship. I'm sure it's all part of racing.

Personally I would love to see MM or Dani take these next two races and have JL and VR squeeze out what little points they can, either on the last step of the podium or whatever place they can capture. It would make the struggle all the more exciting! JL is on fire again, so is DP and MM is not that far behind them. I see an epic battle coming and Valencia is going to be the deciding race.

 

And Valencia is not a Rossi track..... It has been a very fun season. Rossi's Jedi mind games may backfire this time. We shall see. He will have to race like the Rossi of old, but IF he pulls this thing off... GOAT.

All I can say is wow...did I just witness that?! What about your boy Dani?! Gotta say the later half of the season he's been on fire!

 

And the Kid wins.......have some of that Gator.... things work out, I guess....not a championship.... but that....fuck the italian

 

Well it's not like MM hasn't used other riders as berms in the past, and he did have the option of backing off.
