Anyone Consider the Aprilia Caponord 1200 over the VFR1200?

Just wondering if anyone looked at the Caponord when looking to buy the VFR 1200.
I just got back from a one-day 825km trip (too long for one day) to NY and Penn, and the bike worked well for that purpose. Wondering if anyone has spent some time on the Caponord. Interesting comparison. I see the VFR is 588 pounds with a 4.89 gal tank, where the Caponord is 502 pounds with a 6.3 gal tank. The reason I'm thinking about this is that I had a pretty busy day on the bike, and I filled up four times during the day. I would have preferred one less stop for gas, but it's no big deal. Mind you, I always fill up when I'm just under half, so I may have been able to stretch three fills only.

If it had the Tuono motor it would be a hands down game changer. It has better out of the box suspension (really cool with automatics too), electronics, riding ergos, adjustable wind screen and more. But not a V4. The V twin is very capable though with over 60 lbs of torque available below 3000rpms! A very nice bike at a reasonable price. Seems to be very similar to the Multistrada.

While it is lighter, I think the VFR is far sportier. I don't much care for the adventure style bikes. Different strokes for different folks though.

If you do some research, you'll find some magazine comparisons that included the Caponord. In all the articles I've seen, it didn't fair very well compared to most other ADV & Sport-ADV type bikes. Everyone HATES the cruise control on it. If price weren't a big factor, the Multistrada would be a far better choice.

It is far less powerful than the VFR1200, but it does look like a really nice all-rounder. If only there were more dealers and aftermarket parts in the US...

At almost 100 lbs lighter than the 1200 the hp difference is negligible. The Ape making 80+ torque below 3k is huge. If it was not so expensive the KTM 1290 Adventure is amazing. 500 lbs, 160 hp 108 torque....... its a beast with all the goodies you can imagine.
