Check all the fuses in the VFRness. VFRness does nothing but HELP the electrical issues of the bike. Sure its possible the harness has an issue but I would get it fixed and keep that on the bike. I was installing some stuff on the bike and blew one of the fuses on my VFRness, a 20A, and everything seemed fine, but some wires got super hot, and it turned out I had blown the fuse and thats when I found out.

I wonder about the stators. You checked the phases and ground with ohm meter and then A/C voltage with voltmeter. If it checks good, but it looks like hell, is it really bad? I don't know, I often wondered about that. If its working maybe just keep it as a spare, its nice to have spare Stator and RR's if you can.

These v4 s run hot and the stator is in cooling oil only half way up.So I think nearly everyone's stator look like yours. The voltmeter doesn't lie.

thats my point. I have never seen anyone pull a VFR stator that has been in the bike for any appreciable amount of time, and it NOT look fried at least on some parts.
