Is spray-painting a VFR wheel / rim a good idea?

It hard when I have no more kittens-they have all gone to a better home, I only have the old timers left. P1010241.jpg

That is great to hear but cats are more interested in food and pissing all over their territory than making any moral observations on your love life with those shemale dudes. For all you really know those kittens you sold off may be long gone as Kitty-Ramen. For the old timers I suggest maybe one of the many crock-pot recipes for older chickens.

The Kittens cost $450 , I am sure they do not end up in a pot of stew. They are put on house guard against and chipmunk that may try and sneak in. I think troll stew make be more tasty, but very fatty on second thought anything that ugly-1 st pic- couldn't taste very good. Troll stew should only be fed to rodents. The cats have two litter boxes,. I only have one cat that may pee in bad spot-his name is Mr Ceasar, a big Tom cat with a bull dog face-2nd pic. I am painting my car wheels with black 500 degree enamel.

With my car wheels all I do is touch them up when the pant starts looking shitty, I do not really rec painting a nice looking silver wheels but for a daily rider perhaps spray painting isn't such a bad idea-it does work ok on my car wheels which are also alu-it doesn't look super sharp but it does look ok in black with a black car. I just got a super deal on 4 cans of 500 degree paint for only $20+ tax. powder coating works better but it is expensive and will wear off too- especially in salt.

I was hoping you could send me two all skinned gutted and pre cut into serving portions. We entertain important clients from time to time. Some of them have developed a taste for cat meat. Who am I to disappoint them?

Troll stew is just another figment of your imagination or in truth your limited imagination as the troll reference wears thinner and thinner. I think it's great that something as ugly as those cats can be put to good use is marvelous. I will scour the net for a cookbook. I think it might not be in English so anyone who is interested may have to use one of the translators that are on line.

Did you get another car? What do you do with the leftover rattlecan paint? I sure hope you carefully follow the directions as to recoat windows with that silicone base paint. Perhaps one of your boy/girfriends can explain this for you. I suggest you do the actual painting. With Halloween approaching there is no telling what one of those freaks will want to paint.

On the wheel discussion, my 93 has factory white wheels. When I was working on the bike upgrading the suspension, I took them both off and waxed them twice with hard carnuba wax. Hardest part was the hollow in the spokes, but not that bad.

Now I just spray some cleaner directly on them after a good high pressure wash off and high pressure wash off again. Than a quick wipe off with a towel and she's rockin again. Clean, white and shiny again.

I even wash and wax the entire bike twice a year as well.

    I like shiny.

Be careful pressure washer doesn't force detergents into axels. Had that happen to my 83 in the beginning, very hard to get axel out.

Use of a pressure washer correctly depends on several things. An analogy might be when spraying paint. The adjustment of the output pressure and the size and configuration of the tip. There are bigass pressure washers the size of a VW bug. Cranked up on high with a needle tip they are used to cut marine grade epoxy off steel boat hulls. Some come with reservoirs to meter in various additives. A side use that the guys who pressure wash decks and parking lots is applying chemicals to lawns, shrubs and plant beds.

The detergents and various base cleaners will also dissolve the lubricants in wheel bearings.

Save some of that rattlecan black. When that cat gets old and nobody wants to buy if for a meal or two, you can paint the thing black and sell it to some dummy as a rare animal.

I figure that even with a just a smidgen of paint and some masking tape you could make that mangy old cat look like a skunk with long hair.

Hmmm...your breed of cat is my favorite to have sex with! What a coincidence!

    BZ

p.s. All that happens BEFORE I eat them. I'm not like BB and his special customers. They do that afterward. How inconsiderate to the cat(s).

There are alternatives to this too. Using 1/4" masking tape for the initial taping of the tire, the bead does not have to be broken.

Clearcoats over pigmented paints are best applied over paint that has been sanded. Sanding all those edges and depressions is a bitch.. For a glossy finish additives are available. Three coats of automotive paint with or without clearcoating is just fine for wheels as long, as has been pointed out, the prep is done right.

I do not break the bead either, just deflate the tire. The tire will pull away from the rim a little after deflating and allow you to work the tape down far enough for a good mask.
