Were the 1st Gen 500cc Interceptors also prone to the issues with the rockers and cam lobes?

From what I have read, only the 750's, not the 500's or 1100's.

One bike? That's like having only one pair of socks.

Wow, what a clean bike for the year! I bought and sold a few bikes back in the late 80's/early 90's, and flipped an Interceptor 500 at one point to make a few bucks. I wish I'd kept it, along with a couple of the RD's that sell for stupid money now.

I am sorry the title "I'm getting it tomorrow morning" sounds like the perpetual promise of my married life.

Nice bike that. I thoroughly enjoyed mine but I needed something a tad bigger to haul my bulk around.

very nice shape for that age. I had same model same color, but it was all faded and cracked and smoked a bit. I think I sold it for about $400 cause I didn't want to invest time and $$ to make it look like yours.

I got lucky with the white paint which is a perfect match, I used it on my old white beater Sable earlier this year, very tough, more like a high gloss coating than a paint. Found it at O'Reilly's and assume they all carry it. It is 'Dupli-color sandable automotive primer' (DAP 1689 white primer) and 'Dupli-color acrylic enamel multi-purpose coating' (DA 1670 gloss white). Used it on the tank and lower cowl. Also had good results with 'Dupli-color engine enamel with ceramic' (DE 1613 gloss black) on the mirrors, kickstands, and chain cover.
