^ Dude, we should have done a double order. now I've got the urge to do this. but maybe I should wait and see how your order goes. Did they happen to say they have em in stock? The factory clear here is that price, so in that this makes sense.

Good questions. I will post the answers here rather than in PM so that everyone may benefit.

Yes I came close to contacting you about this. If I ordered to my house then shipped to you, since shipping is €35 ($39.20) and from me to you may be $18, if I did my math correctly we would each save $10.60. However, my gut was not sure about the supplier and I did not want to risk a double order on my credit card, in case I had any problems. I found very few comments about the site which is odd if they are as large as they say. I just did a search on vfrworld and mine is the only post where motorcyclespareparts.eu is mentioned. I found only a couple comments on vfrdiscussion.com.

I did not see any messages about the parts being in stock or not. They did e-mail the invoice immediately, but I did not see any information about processing time.

Shipping in and out of Europe is a tricky business with the customs rules. Knowing this I do expect some delay, however I am dismayed that at the high shipping price, and ordering from a foreign vendor, that there was no estimate on the shipping time. This business is in the Netherlands so hopefully they put the parts in a truck and began driving west towards me right away.

They did not do the courtesy of showing the pricing in dollars. That is a little scary, until I see the credit card bill.

The current rate from googling is 1.12 Stars and Stripes to 1 Euroblaster. So as you browse parts think in terms of adding ten percent to Euro prices.

URL for 1999 VFRs and these parts:

    https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/honda-parts/motorcycles/vfr800fi-1999.aspx
    https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/honda-genuine-parts/64201mbg000-windscreen.aspx
    https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu...39-1-mark-539846/87107my9660-emblem-50th.aspx

    Pricing

    €175.86 - windscreen part 64201MBG000
    € 16.35 - 50th emblem part 176387107MY9660
    € 34.99 - shipping (minimum)
    €227.20 - Total
$254.46 - My calculated total converted to US dollars

From your PM your dealer has the windscreen for $223 but hondapartshouse has it for $145.70. (I think this price went up about $5 recently.) Yes this makes the Euro part a relatively poor value. Also I got a clear OEM from someone here very cheap before I investigated the tinted Euro screen, making me question my sanity further. The people here are truly wonderful in swapping items they do not need. I am very grateful for this community for the myriad of support they provide. I only hope that someone will feel that I have reciprocated with something worthwhile.

Here is the US screen at hondapartshouse which is a great site for identifying parts. But again if someone were looking for an OEM windscreen I would ask here, and post it in the wanted classifieds, and you will probably find a good deal on a used one. Most riders trade the OEM for a touring screen so they should be available occasionally.

Only after the fact of the purchase, like a dummy, I looked for coupons for motorcyclespareparts. I do not remember a place to insert a code during the ordering process but I was not looking for it. You should look for this if you end up buying from MSP. I found some coupons here which are highly rated and hopefully are valid.

For sure I will continue to update you on the windscreen purchase.

awe ha... you're like me, in that sometimes it's a spur of the moment grab and run purchase. even though some research says it ok, then ive convinced myself to pull the trigger. I've been bitten once from ordering over there in Europe. it was a helmet, I never got, there was lots of good communication at first, but once paid that stopped, even the tracking number at first looked real, then found out it was bogas. Good thing paypal has a back up plan. Thing was, I wanted the helmet Grr. I'll be keeping an eye on this, I'd like to believe it should work out, but those holes in the what the shipping time, no amount in USD. has me scratching my head.. Thanks for being a Guinea pig ;)

Guinea pig indeed. Here is the ongoing status. It sure looks like they are ordering the screen from Honda:

I checked my order screen and it still indicates that they kinda, sorta, probably, just might get the Euro screen in stock on September 22nd.

I was just starting to get that little excited feeling inside before reading your post.

Well, probably see you with my new part in 2016.

Sometime these past several days the order shipped. I do not know when as they sent no notice whatsoever. I checked the order online just now and it shows a status of shipped.

I think I used Paypal. Maybe they do not, or cannot notify customers who do not create online accounts.

Consider my friend, there are plenty of people with significant communication power, yielding speeches daily even, who never keep a promise, and who have never done anything good with their own two hands. This business however posted a promise for a date of acquisition, they seem to have kept it. Especially in today's world, one cannot beat someone keeping their word. Stumbling over their words is not a moral flaw.

If this turns out good (it will) then moving forward I might suggest when dealing with this business establish an account with them rather than using Paypal. I use Paypal out of pure unadulterated fear, but once the company is tested, we can create an account, give them an e-mail address, and then maybe these guys will provide updates like Amazon or anyone else.

I just realized, I did in fact register an account at motorcyclespareparts.eu. I used Paypal but I also gave them an e-mail address. I know that the e-mail works because for the initial order they did sent an e-mail there.

Oops I misread the order so you may have seen my prior post about the status changing, which is wrong. The parts show "in stock" but there is an order status of "shipped" still.

    Arrival any day now?

How odd, in this day of automated messaging. seams like just about everything be it small or large as in a big deal has a means of letting you know through our smart phones. I guess with this one has no option but to wait it out, but man not knowing is the hard part. Hmm wonder if it's worth a call?

You may relax just a little now. The pretty lady who defends the castle against the drug cartel next door called to inform me that I got a gigantic box with tons of padding and a windscreen inside. I will provide photos the first chance I get.

    It's beautiful!

I could not tell how dark the tint was from photos of bikes and would have been disappointed if it was too light. However it looks great!

I overlaid them and the parts appear to be identical including the tabs. It may be a while before I install this though, the definitive test.

    RVFR you must get one.
