I was getting into my service truck this afternoon and I heard a guy on a Harley getting on it pretty good. It was in an industrial area in Everett. The speed limit was 25. I'd guess he got it up to at least 50, just from listening. I thought to myself "what an idiot".

I backed my truck out and head towards the stop sign and there's a big truck stopped in front of me and I can see another car at the stop sign. In between the two lay the Harley. I couldn't figure out if the HD rear ended the car at the stop sign and bounced back 8 feet or if he just laid it down.

The dude was in the gutter, laying on his stomach, his legs were moving and appeared to be in a lot of pain. He didn't have a helmet on, just a bandanna. Either the skull cap came of or someone foolishly removed it.

There was a chick attending him and several people were on their cell phones. The big truck went around and I followrd. I'm no EMT and I figured I better get my truck out of the way for the aid car.

    Hope he's okay.

ATGATT .. sadly it sounds like a rather hard way to learn the lesson.

ABATE should have nation wide response teams that tend to helmetless harley wrecks.

Good idea but that would just be another waste of money-99.999% of taxes are wasted by the military complex. You get a 1,000 cops on over pay every time one of them goes down costing millions, when someone else gets hurt they don't even show up to file a report maybe they spend $10 bucks on that one.. A new human type was found by a bunch of under paid girls, I wonder if they rode a Harley.

We have a helmet law in WA state. I've never seen a rider w/o one.

I didn't stop and gawk so his skull cap presumably came off. Didn't see any blood, must have been a collision- abrupt stop.
It's easy to call someone an idiot and say he had it coming but I wish that on no one.

no helmet law here-I am not a fan of laws telling people to put a helmet-its there choice, just another thing for a cop to steal money from someone.

Washington's helmet law addresses wearing of a helmet. There are harleydoods herer that wear "helmets" made of plastic and this is no shit, paper maiche. Also at last look, no helmet is required when riding an antique bike. Also, insurance is not required in WA for bikes.

A popular event at HOG meats is bringing fallen "bros" along for the "Drooling in your Wheaties" contests.

Well, some are aboot the same vintage as some of the dudes here. Both are known mostly for their rigid frames.
