I think , I may have solved the problem, I have the bike on a center stand with a broom handle-does work well, but the vfr needs to be on the side stand to drain all the oil out-that maybe leaving a 1/3 qt still in the bike. and screw you for calling me a name-its easy too call people names so fuk off.:vader:

You should check the manual. Page 111 says "ensure broomstick holding up your VFR is actually level". Actually, make sure its level. Hope this helps...

My garage is a very uneven floor, I think side stand might work to the extra oil out that must be still in it- will have to drain a bit out-its not that much oil. I have noticed even on a level road on the center stand the engine is not level either. I think maybe you have to flat foot then have someone look at the window marks-what a major pain in ass:kev:

Are you mixing up quarts with litres? The metric system is preferred the world over for good reason, maybe your oil bottles were 1 litre not 1 quart. Should be 3.1L after a filter change.

I too hate the oil glass system and would prefer a dipstick (cue unkind words) because you could sit on the bike, keep it level and check the oil level. If you have to use a glass I would have thought it would be a lot easier to have it on the same side as the sidestand.

I troubleshot code for a programmer who was developing communication software for commercial equipment. Somewhere in the manufacturer's driver calculations it listed "metric ounces." First we laughed until we hurt badly. Then we scratched our heads. It turns out some who use the metric system redefined ounces. At that time I could find no reference to this, it was before the wiki article which exists today. That was the one time in life I had actual trouble understanding a spec and I thought some engineer in Italy was pulling a practical joke on us, given the number of practical jokes that exist on Italian made equipment.
