I will have my bike apart in a few weeks, I was just curious if anyone has ever cleaned their injectors. I will probably do it with an ultrasonic cleaner. I am really just interested to see if it has helped anyone in the past.

Yes I pulled my injectors out last year, while doing a tune up. (Throttle body sync/ new spark plugs/ cleaned the air filter/ changed the fuel filter/ dyno tune / etc....) and sent them to

    http://precisionautoinjectors.com/pages/about-us

Awesome guys. They mainly to mail in services, but their shop is down the street from my house, so they were nice enough to let me do drop off and pick up instead of mail in.
They measured the flow before hand, disassembled them, cleaned them, balanced them to less than 1% variance and reassembled them with new filter screens/orings/etc.
AWESOME SERVICE FOR $60. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Taken from their website:

    P.S.

I am sure you already know, but please don't even think about using Seafoam or any other pour in tank treatment. They are all snake oil and a complete crock of shit.

Before doing the VFR, I was having trouble with my Acura, so I did a basic tune up, changed the fuel filter and ran 2 bottles of Seafoam through the tank. It din't help, so I also tried a bottle of Lucas fuel cleaner and then STP. Nothing helped with the rough starting and lean surging, so finally I pulled the injectors and took them to Precision Auto Injectors. They tested them out and the variance was way off and the spray pattern was terrible. After their service they were able to balance them to less than 1% flow variance and achieve perfect spray patterns. Now the car runs great and I am 100% sold on them now.

Thanks for your response, For $60 I will check it out. My bike was wrecked and I put it back together, and even after doing a throttle body/starter valve sync it feels like one of the cylinders doesn't fire quite right. I replace the spark plugs a month ago none of them looked bad, and I just had a suspicion that one of the injectors might need cleaned. It will be getting colder before I know it and I will be ripping it down for checking the valve clearance so i figured i would check out the injectors while i'm in there.

Its too easy not to just pull them out and send them away to be cleaned and balanced.

I'm sure you have back to back flow rate and spray pattern comparisons to show this lol

Actually techron does work, but it's something for the long haul. I do agree, but never thought about this on the VFR, lol One, this is my first FI version. Second, I just got it , so... but have done this with some of the cars I've had and yes it makes a difference, just can't help wonder how much on the VFR. for $60 could be worth a try this winter. or maybe just get another set for on hand sakes. Hmm.??? and send em off now, good stuff Candy, oh by the way, your friend at at Rapid says High ;)

there is data to back this up and my car seems to never choke up with just adding techron once in a while
other wise you do have to pull the injectors out and blow the stuff out. It should do the same with a vfr in decent running shape.
