Have new tires and need to balance them soon. What are you using and how much you paid for?
    Thanks.

My step father swears by the balancing beads. He's run them in his Gold Wing for over 50k. I'm going to try them at my next tire swap.

I've used the beads before and they work great. Problem is, I can't recycle them for the next set as I don't mount my own tires.

Dynabeads! I used them for the first time ever and took then out the worn rear tire and put them into the new one. I ordered a new 2oz bag on amazon the same day as the tire. The tire arrived the next day and I was so worn to the steel cords I could not wait till they arrived. I just told the dude that I wanted him to recycle then into the new tire. No issues or worries.
    None at all!

Okay. lets move from beads to tire balancing devices. What is a good device and how much you paid for it?

I use the Marc Parnes balancer and it works great. Never tried the balancing beads, and don't intend to.

Instead of Dyna-Beads I use birdshot. It makes a really cool sound almost like when ya use clothespins and playing cards on a bicycle or tricycle or unicycle, I hear pie weighs are cool too.

Since many tires are speed rated, maybe it's a good idea to have the wheels balanced to near the same tolerances. For as often as some buy and go through tires on streebikes, seems like just outsourcing a balance job to someone who does this work using a real static and dynamic balancer.

When I changed tires last time, the old tire had a bunch of gooey grey shit in there. I wonder if that is the same stuff. If so, I sure don't have any complaints at how it behaved, except it was apparently a fucking mess to deal with when removing the tire. I wasn't there.

I was there when the tire with Ride On was replaced. It stayed on the tire and came right off with the tire. It never touched the rim except for a little bit. I actually pulled the wheel weights or of the tires after putting it on.

The ship in Albuquerque that replaced my back tire on my way home last year, used a static wheel balancer. It balanced great, no vibration even over 100.

Something to check oot might be the warrantee on a new tire if some goo or beads are added.

I can see not adding those unsightly wheel weights to a trailer queen or a bike night bobber.

A little modelling paint or like someone here likes to use (GASP!) nail polish, on those weights to match the colour of the weight to the wheel makes them almost disappear.
