Hi folks, I thought I'd take the time to mention that I have just had to put my Vfr into the garage to investigate some disturbing engine noise. Preliminary investigation seems to indicate something serious as the there is a large quantity of fine metal debris in the oil. The bikes a 2010 and done only 15000 miles and has been serviced at the manufacture's service intervals. To say I'm a little p*#£@# off is an understatement, didn't expect this from a Honda. I'll keep you all posted on the investigation and repairs required, if only to try and prevent this occurring to anyone else as its likely to cost a small fortune to fix.
Sorry to hear your first post is about engine troubles. If you use the search feature on this site (towards the top right), you will see you're not the only one that's had issues, although I can't recall what model year the other problems occurred on. I think one member here has gone through 2 engines.
Hey Soap keep us posted on this, also is yours a DCT or manual clutch model? I've just joined the forum and thinking very seriously about a VFR 1200 as my next bike.
