I bought a Vance & Hines system in 84, then got the Kerker cans when the V&H cans got scratched up. Pipes have been ceramic coated and Kerkers polished (and new Kerker name plates compliments of Kerker).

There is nothing more therapeutic than a wash and wax on white. Am I right? ;)

(Canned air works great for getting the water out of nooks and crannies.)

Got the carbs back on (second time today) on the 83, got her running, then finished odds and ends and went for a short ride! Strange after 15 years, totally different than the VFR. Got a small leak in right fork to fix, then i will get it registered.

Found a quick way to pop the carbs back on, only takes 5 minutes (after hooking up cables).

Seat the front two first. By using the clamps, it brings the throats closer to where the should be, then using a blade screw driver, the pry rubber over throats of the rear two. Bingo!

Road it to work everyday since July 6th. Ok... I had to load it into the van the day the stator went up. Man its fun to go into work on that bike!
I have been getting clutch slippage since I changed the oil n filter. Is it that I used Moble 1?

jorgescar69, I have been doing the same thing. I drove my car with the kids yesterday. It was only the second or third time in a month that I've been in a car. Of course, commuting 6-days-a-week right now goes a long way...

I get a nice ride in with some twisties going over the hill. But my clutch is getting the slips at 9k or so now. I think its cuz I went full synthetic. I opened the motor up n the clutch looks good.
its when passing slow cars on a two lane that worries me. I gun it and it just revs with little go!

It's not the synthetic oil, I have been using Amsoil pure synthetic for several years in two VFRs and now in my 83.

I cleaned it up a good bit. Especially down near the kick stand. I am having trouble restarting the bike when its warmed up. Was told it was the neutral switch/ kickstand switch sensor. The bike starts from cold no problem but if it cuts out a a traffic light I can't get a full green on neutral and the bike won't start. I have to get a push or wait until it cools.
I have attached a picture of the side stand area and a picture of the switch. but cant find where it goes. Any help would be appreciated.

That looks like the neutral switch which goes on the other side of the bike at the lower rear of the clutch cover with a single wire attached to it

if you look at the oil sight glass it is to the left of that
