Anyone know if a 2004 V-TEC rear wheel will fit a 5th gen '99 bike?

    Thank you please.

Will the 6th gen wheel work with the gear driven cams?

Jeesh man, there's 500 threads on the '98-'10 wheels being the same part number other than color. Do a search.

Maybe this will make up for it...All of the older generation 4 bolt single sided mounted wheels will fit on the newer generations, but not the other way around (I believe that these are all 100mm bolt pattern). The older hubs have protruding retaining bolts that will not allow the newer wheels to sit flush as the newer wheels do not have notches for these bolts to fit into. The 5 and 6 Gen wheels are like the ones in the bottom two photos.

    Like so.

    Thank you...that's more like it!

Quite handy having all those years to pick from. All 180/55 17 fitment as well I take it?

I'm pretty sure that the 4 Gen is actually a 5" width wheel and came with a 170 rear tire, but the others are 5.5" width wheels, so 180 rear tire would be correct.

It was 5th gen onwards that I was interested with the flush inside face and the wider rim.
I have a black 5th with black wheels...too much black!
Will paint mine silver or swap my black ones for silver if anyone wants to?

Polished wheels would look nice on a black bike. That's a lot of work though!

Thanks for the suggestion but polished rims just looks dated and polishing the whole wheel is just too much work and not the custom bike look I'm after. They'll either stay black or I'll find a shade of dark silver that I like and go with that
