Bad gas is part of the reason my vfr runs shitty.

Seems to me that you should probably get the actual riding part down-pat first. Then worry about all this complex fuel wizardry/nonsense that you're always on about. The fine folks at Honda ENGINEERED (like, with math, science, and various other things you don't understand) the engine to run on 87. So put 87 in it, from a station that doesn't peddle E10, and just ride the fucking bike.

Personally I think it might be better if you try drinking a bit of 87 or even 89 would do, might even be worth mixing the 2 together, and then stick one of these great Denso spark plug in your mouth to see if it still sparks

I don't get all of the ethanol talk. I just fill my bike, car, boat and generators and run them. If you are going to park then for a while, simply add some Stabil.

vfr running better but the idle is way too low, so far I can't adj with the knob. the only thing wrong right now is either the cable or the wax unit. it will stall to easy at take off 1,000 rpm or less-needs to be 1400-1500 on the tach. I can use the throttle to increase the rpm's but is tricky :boink:

most of the problems were solved today, put 1 gal of 87-now its a full tank of gas-something I do not like on back roads, but it pick up idle a little and ran much better riding had a few bugs like the gas. the more I ride the vfr-the better it seems to get- very odd machine. I fix ever thing myself.

That was a really stupid post norm.

I can't imagine why you would give advice like that.

Why on earth would you recommend he puts the spark plug in the wrong end?

I hear voices, they tell me to buy more parts and more motorcycles.
    I usually listen.

Odds are there is a station that sells ethanol-free gas somewhere near you. Check out the PURE GAS app on the iTunes store.

Beyond that, you are overthinking all this. Just go ride.
