Whoa, will do :-( just got the bike last June, would there be other signs? I'm just under 9k miles

 

Check the coolant level.

 

I installed my Delkevic exhasut, new pro grips, all the free mods, changed the oil, added a volt gauge, and installed new Pilot Road 4s.

 

Very rare for a head gasket failure, could be condensation .Have you been on short runs ?
Head gasket failure symptoms would be creamy oil and coolant loss, steam from exhaust.
Hope it's not.

 

Maybe I didn't use the right descriptive word. The oil was thick and dirty for sure. Coolant is perfect, no smoke, and not many trips under 10 miles. I suspect it's fine, won't be able to ride again till Wednesday, I'll keep an eye on it.

As I make repairs on all of the little things on my bike I haven't even registered it yet, so looking at the weather, wife gone to run errands, I decide what the heck so I go for a spin, been a long time since a spirited ride, took about a mile or so to smile, about two or three to loosen up and low and behold, the temp gauge starts working, I had not put a VOM on it to check resistance but knew the gauge worked, so I guess the sending unit works just need to clean all ground paths. That is one other little thing I can check off my list now.

New chain and sprockets.

 

Waited... for Jamie D to re-work my suspension! Will be worth the wait when its all back together!

 

Working on putting LEDs in for turn signals and brake/ tail lights. Working tonight to get the Lines marked off for the new paint job, and taking measurements for a custom backrest for the rear passenger.

 

#1 and #3 were pretty far out. I had a LOT of transition problems that seems to be better. I have a lot a much smoother transition off of idle to power now.

 

Nothing for the last 2 weeks. Broken collarbone :sour:. Miss riding her, particularly in this nice GA weather.

 

Cleaned the K&N then took a look at the rear plugs.

 

Put more miles on the PR4s...gotta admit, I love these the best out of every tire I've ever tried on my 3 VFRs, or any of my many other bikes. Still under 1k on them, but they have seen cool weather, summer heat, rain storms, damp roads, etc. and the feel/grip never falters. The Corbin seat is still breaking in nicely, as well.

Just finished installing tapered head bearings, changing the fork fluid(bonus, found out I have progressive springs in them), ...today... - re-installed triple clamps, forks, put on new front tire, balanced front rim, and installed front wheel. Still have to install new front brake pads(ex racer, only front braker), install new rear tire, balance wheel and put back on. Adjust & lube chain....good to go.

 

Finally put the carbs back in the 94, I procrastinated for two weeks fearing the job and they went in effortlessly in less than a minute.

 

Did an oil and oil filter change, flushed/filled the coolant and helped fellow member VFR714 change his brake pads and bleed the lines. Whew! Long day.

 

Installed a Daugherty F4i shock, which took two people and a whole lot of four-letter words to get installed. The handling and compliance over bumps is noticeably improved, but now the rear tire touches the ground with the bike on the center stand. Everything is bolted up as it should be, suspension links are all in the right place, so I'm not sure what could be causing that besides the shock being longer overall and pushing the ride height up. E-mailed Jamie about it and he hadn't heard of that happening on a 6th-gen before. Maybe I'll have to compensate by dropping the front once my fork kit comes in :noidea:
