Lots of dirt bike time probably helps.

Even the other riders are saying the same thing. They want to know how he turns the bike using only one wheel!

Have you seen the slow motion videos of him on one wheel on a hard trail brake turning the bike. What the riders can't understand is how stable the bike is when the rear tire sets down. Anyone else would have upset the suspension in a major way.

The thing about JL is he's a machine; he does very close to the same lap times all race long. If he's dialed in, and that puts him first, he's good. If that puts him 5th, that's where he usually finishes. Much can be said for consistency, but I'd prefer someone who can ride out of their skin when needed...

Was those the races that were part asphalt and part dirt? I tried to watch everything they had back then. Yea the flat trackers coming in to roadracing had a big advantage being able to slid the bikes on asphalt when they wanted. King Kenny proved that.

I'm headed to the AMA,now MotorAmerica, super bike races to work the race this weekend. Anybody going to be there? I'll find out thursday what I'll be doing. If you see a red blackbird with Ohio RWB plates that's me. Old man with a grey stash and glasses [IMG] Hoping to be around tech control or pit area. Not sure where the bike will be parked. I'll have my laptop with me at the motel encase anybody wants to meet up at sometime.

Road America is a super nice track in the woods, come on up and watch some good racing. May need rain gear though..... Road America | MotoAmerica

Well I made it to Road America without incident and no rain. I skated around it. It was in front of me several times. By the time I got up the road it was gone leaving wetish roads for several miles only. I'm working in Tech Control teching the bikes prior to any track time. All I can say is these bikes ,1000cc 190hp rwhp 80# of tq and 380 lbs, make my bike look and feel like a tank!! Today was just a get settled day for racers and get the bikes tech'd. More tomorrow for sure before the first practice.

If somebody does show up stop by to say hi. The tech building is behind the paddocks up the hill in the center of the track. The coarse is 4.04 miles long and a good third of it runs thru the woods. Trees on both sides of the long back straight and one of the inner parts of the track.

Got a good show today with Porsche LMGT race cars. They rented the track for a few days and today was their last. These cars turn faster laps than any of the race bikes here this weekend. One of the cars sounded so mean and was quick as hell down the front straight. One nice mean machine.

yes I have pics. I have to wait till I get home to down load them. No I picked three races. The next one is Barber in AL. I'm making a little trip out of that one cause I want to tour the museum and it may take two days. I signed up for Indy and will have to wait to see if they want me, because it's invite only for volunteers. That's the MotoGP race in the USA. That would be neat to tech the MotoGP bikes. I'd give Rossi's bike some good karma for an extra kick. LOL

Rained several times today and had to stop practice/qualifying because of standing water. I also post the racing stats after each outing. Man you ought to see how much info we give to the racers. Split times, section times, avg speed, best lap/section times, position and lots more. I'm killing trees left and right for all the print outs I make.

The real kicker is I don't get to see any racing. Though I can walk pit lane during racing if I can get away from Tech Control for a while. We do mini inspections sometimes on bikes/crew up and down pit lane. Even though it's 12hr days, it's racing and I'm meeting some neat people. Like Wayne Rainy today.

You can see live feeds at the MotorAmerica site or recorded stuff from the day. It will be getting colder the next two days so that may change a few things, should be dry tomorrow.

Wow, looks like JL and MM swapped places from where they were this time last year! Definitely a turn of fortunes. I would like to see VR on the top step of the podium but anything can happen on race day.

I'm beginning to hate Wisconsin. Weather changed again and it was in the high 40's with rain, rain and more rain till about 4pm. I got to roam today as my job. So when the first race, Super Stock 600 qualifying was starting, I was on the grid and got some good shots of the rows. Then over the wall at track side to get video of the rain start and second lap pass, with bikes shooting by me about 12 foot away with sound.

Eslick was a victim of the water as well as a few others in all classes some were leaders. Was able to watch the races with lap times etc inside tech on a live web feed also. So they tell me tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and clear in the mid 50's. Yea I heard that before..........
