^ those where the days, when men where men; and bought one bike and customized it to the style riding they were doing, (I will spare you the details of Craig Vetters' shtuff.)

Just was talking to a bud and we were discussing "fly-by-wire" and some other bs car think things that are on motorcycles currently. Oh the days or tickling a carburetor and having someone smell your finger :pound: How can you tell a Triumph rider? Smell his finger... had Mach1 oot today Mach2 duz weekday duty.

I agree that expectations change with the bike you are riding. With my old CB550, I would lean into a corner and the whole frame would wind and unwind, bending and flexing like an old handsaw, and I was having the time of my life. Ninety mph might as well have been Mach 2 because it felt like the wind was trying to pull you off the bike. With my 5th gen, I expect rock solid stability at all speeds and debate what setting I should use on my heated handgrips. On my CB550, I never checked mileage, just shifted into neutral, flipped the petcock to reserve, put the bike back into gear, popped the clutch and kept riding. On the VFR I am shopping for, I am wondering about a low fuel light that turns on too early.

    Oh technology...

Never had that problem with the mach 1 91 since it was brand spanking new. Never ran oot of gas either. The important thing is that I never developed Erythrophobia.

    Thankee Jesus!

I was OK with Vetter until he made that front thing for Harleys.. We are talking ugly.. For the "old" Triumphs and those in the Amal retentive set, all that tickling of those old carbs was not really necessary. All that was needed was to hold the button down. Then do the finger smelling thing. Punching that button could eventually wear a hole in the float.

^look what the cat dragged in. Its all relative the "speed" thing, 60mph feels like 100+ on my YSR50. VFR just feels so nice getting to the higher limits, I ran oot of gas a few times on my Mach1 back in the day. Blonde moments and being young I guess.

Had a nice Vetter Full Force leather jacket, wished it was more fitted back then. Anyway, ride on :peace:

Vetter's dustbin fairings and race stuff is great. Not aware he had jackets.. outsourced maybe? Having had more than one bike without much but a tach or a speedo, ya kind of get a feel for when to gas up. After 24 years on the mach 1, I am getting there..;)

Best jacket? A tossup. Fabric...Aerostich Leather all around? Paris-Dakar.

Vetter stuff on steroids. Bet he is cringing..

crazy chit, kinda a non-seqitour and maybe will be considered by some as a dreaded "thread-jacking" to those, I say, "Chill-the-fuk-00t!" :pound:

Love my one piece stich suit, got a vented/perfed out leather jacket in white leather with some coloured graphix along with some perfed oot leather pants. Love my Bates, Fast boots. Wear these Churchill deerskin gloves which I got a few pairs of, Lee Parks makes a nice gauntlet that I do too. Got some Old OSI winter gloves that I break oot four times a year maybe :loco: Brain Buckets, I am on the latest greatest Shoei in flat black and its better than the top of the line Arai I was wearing in the past. Crazy really, love the Shoei now. Anyway ride like your invisible and everyone is oot to kill yah, and you''ll be ok. :peace: oh got the odd Aerostich wind bandana and a Chase Harper breezze buster thing for when things get chilly for us Floridians.

Parks did a clinic at on of our gigs last year. Nice gloves. I'm on my second pair of Helds.. until it gets cold here. Deerskin is great, It doesn't get slick when wet.. It rains here a little :)

I wear AGV skidlids. The Shoie and Arai do not fit me well. Great helmets.. I am saving my centavos for a Shuberth. Had one years ago. Good stuff.

Being a pussy, when it gets cold, I haul out the Widder heated Vest.

The Aerostitch is a two piece converter style that zips the top and pants into a suit. It's old but I will wear it until one of us gives up the ghost..

Pretty much yer basic black and hotrod colors type. Me and the tropical frog look are not a match..

Tropical Frog fights and lives to fight another day :pound: Been called "the Flying Chicken" too. :flip: them. Hi-Viz works, love my Helds, it means Hero in German  Had a really nice set that flowed air like no-bodies business, they were raced in and used and abused, they are not on gardnening detail yet. Got a really nice set of Galaxies that have minimal wear and thought I needed to go to a head doctor for paying $200.00 US but you know what they say, "can't tell another man how to spend his money."

Heard good things about Shuberth, I loved my Widder vest and glove combo.

Simple solution to heated cloths-take your car instead and only ride on sundays:lever: But sometimes rain can be fun with good tires-I wax my leathers for rain-good for one ride.
