Started riding last summer at 33, late bloomer I know...

I spent the last year or so on a 1985 BMW R65ls, and while it is a classic that I will continue to own, I was itching for a new rig. After tons of research, I settled on a VFR for it's jack of all trades, great styling, and sport touring capabilities.

Picked up a 2005 with 11,200 miles in great condition on Saturday, spent about 3 hours in the saddle today and I am hooked.

Welcome to The World Topcide! Although I do have to disagree on the use of the word "settled" in your intro post...

    Welcome Topside. You're just a youngun. I didn't start until I was 51. August 2006. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I have never once ridden without being geared up, and I never will. I enjoy having skin.

Not quiiiite stock. Prior owner put a fender eliminator kit on it. Which is fine, because I would have done it right away.

But anyway, put 120 on her since Sunday, and am really loving the bike.

Looks great! The first mod I made was the saddle. The stock saddle never suited me - too slippery. I was always sliding into the tank. Ugh.
