As promised...This video has been edited down to 12 minutes, the whole video is much longer as it is almost the whole road, too long to fit on Youtube using a free account. So in this video there are 5 riders, a S1000RR in the front, an R1 behind him, a VFR750, a BMW S1000R (naked), then a VFR800 (filming). All the bikes except the RR and R1 are actually running the Michelin PR3 or PR4 tires. Don't recall what the R1 had but I think they were Bridgestones. Once the S1000R was passed, he fell way behind, then it was 4 bikes...I think it's near the 7 minute mark that the VFR passes the RR and then disappears for awhile.

Although the VFR750 was on PR3's the PR4 is a great series tire and is Revzilla's "go to" tire. They will recommend it for anyone who is on the fence about what tire to get or if you're not sure if you want a pure sport or pure touring tire. I have nothing against the Dunlop Q3, I just think to say that it is a superior tire is not 100% true. Can you go faster on a Q3 than a PR3 or PR4? Only an A to B comparison on the same bike with the same rider can prove that. What I and DriverDave are saying is that with a good rider with PR's, they would be faster than SOW running his Q3's any day of the week and twice on Sunday!

Even if it doesn't end the debate, at least it will give this thread some substance!

hey do have a very good test comparing some late model tires-Q3 $195 was like second. Any way I am sure the tire is far better than me. Actually the angle gt-$288 is usually in first place over the PR4-$330 and cost $50 less. I would be happy with any new tire, but I do try to get the best one for my budget

Let's put it this way, most modern day sport tires will surpass any test us "mortal" men can throw at it! The Q3 is no doubt a good tire and for the price you can't go wrong. Going back and forth between the Q3, a PR4 or even an Angel GT, unless just trying to get a feel for a different tire, is really not necessary IMO. However, it's your money and spend it how you like.

The idea of going oot for a ride with some like minded dudes (not including you know what kind of bike) and talking aboot the wonders of nature, titties, the lure of the open road and titties, great eats including fresh Jo-jo's and titties, Oprah re-runs and titties, The best oil and titties and maybe some aboot tires but more aboot titties is what I call a great time.

    Thankee Jesus for edited videos.

Did someone mention titties? I love titties. They are much like tires: Some are round and slow. Some have a good angle to them. Some are a little pointy. There are many different sizes and brands. Prices range dramatically. Some titties are readily available, some have to be ordered from specialty places. You can even order titty warmers! Some will wear out quicker than others. Some have lots of miles, some don't. Old titties should be replaced ASAP. is it OK if a good friend upgrades his titties and you mount his old ones? I'm not sure on that one.

The worst kind of titty is a flat titty.

Yes, titties and tires are very similar.

PR4 tires For ANY riding on the street that even approaches legality, these tires will suffice. When I to do another trackday, I will get some "track tires", but until then...

I understand where you are coming from with your thoughts, but, modern tires are more than adequate for probably 99% of riders out there.

In yet another bike analogy, Kim K is having another titty added to become more international beginning with a CanAm. Where this will reside is speculation. The middle of her back has been suggested but she didn't like the joke that it may look funny but she is fun to dance with.

Well I say thank ye Jesus for long open winding roads, like minded individuals who like riding motorcycles, modern tires that exceed any task we ask of them, whatever brand they be, and of course VFRWorld, a place where we can put mindless banter, frivolous videos and other useless crap for our enjoyment! Amen

Bottom line the tires are better than street riders as long as they have good tread on them. The q3 had a cheap price for expensive tires-done deal. My m5's were also a super special deal-front tire free and have maybe 1500 miles left in them. It will be summer then so I need a 4,000 mile tire to get me though the year except maybe the end of summer-then new sport touring tires though the rainy, cold part. That's my tire plan. I would then to get the latest model tire -no sense in getting a older design. All tires have a different feeling. I always think of new tires-new bike feeling. My bike is in excellent shape, so all it needs is a oil change, maybe some new brake pads.:tea:

Is this some sort of plug for Les Schwab Tire Centers..?

They are all over the PNW. Not great deals on bike tires. Car and trucks yes.. Great service.
