Is it me or does the RWB cause kids to become window lickers faster than any other bike you've ridden?

I ride the 57 miles to work most days and every 2nd or 3rd day catch some kid jumping or craining his/her neck around to look at the bike as it goes by... it is certainly not me. I'll usually wave or nod as my way to encourage them to get interested in motorcycling, well and to see them smile and wave back...

    What's your experience?
    Is it the paint?
the comic book like Cap'n America style (even w/o the shield)?
    Any non-Yanks experience this?
or just my Charming personality seeping through?

    note:
It does not seem to have this effect on ladies, but perhaps my 20+ years of marriage has dulled those senses... someone else can speak to that experience?

I encounter the same thing. I think the issue is 1 of 2 things. First of all, the RWB color scheme is very unique for a motorcycle and it no doubt catches people's eyes. The other is the fact that it is an Interceptor. I get people running me down at stop lights telling me that they had one way back in the 80's - it's these people I encounter when I'm on one of the '86s, but they too are RWB and really stand out.

I think the RWB color scheme catches their attention, then the bike keeps it.
I even had one guy who flagged me down to alert me that my bike was broken! He said that he was looking at the RWB paint when he noticed that one side of my swing arm was missing! He wasn't very knowledgable about the bike, but was afraid the bike was broken and would cause me to crash. He was an older fellow (70's) and had never seen a single side swing arm. After giving the bike a good inspection he couldn't believe how great the VFR looked.

I think it's just because the Interceptor is such an exotic and beautiful bike compared to the cookie cutter crotch rockets(don't get me wrong, I like them all). I get many comments, looks, and rubbernecking on my plain old red '98!

I'll ask cruzinaz if he gets those reactions on his too.

I rode my Red O2 to work and during lunch went out to Quiznos to get an "Mmmmmmm Toasty."

So as I'm waiting in line these kids walk by and start gawking and looking and then the guy behind me in line starts to ask me about the bike...

Stuff like this never really happened like this on my 85 VF but then again that bike usually got a different apreciation usually by other fellow riders.... 5th and 6th Gen, and maybe even 4th Gen bikes get noticed by all IMHO....

    But it sure feels good....

I just noticed that the RWB has a black painted frame, that's a first for the 6th Gen, isn't it?

Yes, it is a first. I've looked closely at mine and I don't believe that it is painted. It appears to be the actual color of the aluminum.

Well whatever it is it looks great I love that color scheme. I think they made the right choice with the black.:usa:

I've had quite a few more comments on this bike than my Concours, but the most frequent for both has been "What is that?", but with the VFR it is usually followed by "That's Sweet!"

    Keep on makin' em drool........

    That was funny!

The wheels, aluminum frame, and steel tail section are all painted black.

To you 07 owners, especially the RWB edition, No doubt the interceptor is one beautiful, well crafted machine. Although I dont have one, I do own a 5th gen bike. Question to the new owners that have had previous VFR's; what are the strengths and weaknesses of the 07 compared to other VFR's that you have owned? eddie

I own or have owned a 2nd, 5th and 6th Gen. I have the '07 RWB. I won't compare it to the '86 because it is not a fair comparison due to the almost 20 year age difference. Compared to my '99, I wouldn't say that it is a huge improvement. I'd say that the '07 seems to be a little sharper as far as the handling and suspension and power is at least the same and possibly a little more. The main difference is that the VTEC gives you the feeling that there is more power, when in reality, it probably isn't that much more (if any). Although, it certainly is not less. The only thing I've found on the '07 is that when you lug the throttle in 3rd or 4th gear at slow speeds, it seems to be a little lean, in which case, I just downshift to clear things up. Overall, I think that my 6th Gen is marginally better than my 5th, but it is certainly not a step backwards. I have no real complaints about either bike though.

Even my old 86 RWB turns heads where ever it goes. The cobra cans probably don't hurt either they are LOUD. But I have a lot of people thinking it is much more modern than it really is.

The kids do seem to love the RWB, or maybe it is just the sound of the bike, but I rode by a gradeschool a few weeks back and the kids were out at recess, when they saw the bike and heard it the place looked like a prison riot, all the kids plastered up against the fence yelling and shaking the fence (too bad I cant wheelie yet! )
People love the thing when I pull up at a light, or when your on the highway and cruise by someones window.
I do that waving thing to kids too, or the head nod, gotta keep the biker fever going in the young ones!

I told my wife the loud pipes are safer  But I'm thinking I'll keep this bike bone stock...at least for now. Maybe I need a used bike for the pipes....

from most of these responses, I'm begining to doubt my personality theory... It's the bike.

To be honest I would not mind something quieter but these are what they came with and I have not really found a substitute yet. Maybe some VTR1000 pipes.
