It simply acts as a spacer and pushes your current cilpons higher, but you're kind of limited in terms of how much height you can add. I think most of them for the VFR only add about 3/4". There are adapters too that allow you to run conventional handle bars.

Helibars will add 1.5" of height and 1.25" of pullback.

Ok ... so the current list:

    1. Me
    2. Smooth
    3. Jerritt
    3. Red99RC46 (BIG maybe??)

Tkx. It is helibars I have on mine. They come fairly close to the tank but they do not hit at all.

I bought a set late last Summer. When the temp gets a little more pleasant, I'll have several beers and throw them on. After reading all the install posts here the most harrowing part of the install is the removing of the OEM dampners. Thrown wrenches, multiple curses, I said F-it and bought some Vibranators. Hopefully it goes smoothly... sorry I am no help on your group buy. I'm pulling for Red99 though.

Sweet. I'm really hoping to get a set before May ... just biding my time right now looking for deals or trying to get this group buy going. Ever bit counts with our exchange rate in the trash.

I am interested in getting heli bars. I do know that they are still available for my 1999. Like you, plan to purchase within next few weeks via the internet if a large enough group buy cannot be organized. Please keep me posted on your progress to gather other buyers.

I haven't heard from HeliBars yet, but ....

I did speak with RevZilla. I got the same guy who helped me with my helmet purchase, and he's going to look into doing a group buy for us through RevZilla. :)

    Stay tuned ...

So, RevZilla's supplier for HeliBars (not HeliBars directly) doesn't carry the VFR HeliBars, so that's out.

    Still waiting on HeliBars.

I would think more.. Especially just from having to deal with Canadians and their funny looking money.

Sounds good. Got off the phone with HeliBars (I sent an email last week and hadn't heard back), the information has been passed to whoever makes the decisions on this stuff - just waiting to hear back still. They said I should have a response by the end of the week.

    1. Me
    2. Smooth
    3. Jerritt
    4. GMark
    5. tyarosevich (maybe depending on price)

I've been searching for a used set for the past year with no luck. Just last week a guy local to me said he might be selling his. If that doesn't work out and heli gives you a good deal I'll be interested. Does heli care if it's a mix of different generations? I'm a 5th gen. I notice alot of Canadians on your list. Is there any way to save on the shipping and duty if we did a batch shipment to one address?

For the Canadians we might be able to save, the savings would likely be negligible though, and a PITA for the guy who has to sort, repackage, and ship them.

You might be able to save if you're all local to one another. I don't think they'd care if they were different gens. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Pencil me in as a maybe (cost being the deciding factor)

They list at $300 so I would be in at $200 with shipping to the USA. 10% off is the norm for mail order so that would put them at $270 to start. (IMHO)
