His only "complaint" is that it's too refined? If uncomfortable and unreliable equals personality I want no part of personality out of a motorcycle. Why do you hear this so often describing my two bikes? I'll never understand how that's a negative.

I think refinement can be considered a good personality trait. ie. James Bond is pretty refined and he has a lot of personality... My take on these kind of reviews is that there really isn't too much to complain about. Still strikes me as odd that these bikes don't sell better, but then again, they never get advertised. I see GSXR and Ninja commercials all the time...

There is no such thing as THE perfect motorcycle... I agree that the VFR IS too smooth, and can be boring at times. On the other side of the coin when riding hundreds of miles in a day I'm stoked for the same reasons that I'm a little bored... Not too loud (even with remus pipes) and super smooth-woops, I'm doing 100mph again.. When I'm in a city or just going on a fun ride for a couple of hours I do wish the bike showed a little more grunt, ran rougher, louder, etc... I found that article to be dead on. I've owned 15 different bikes in about 12 years, I'm on my third VFR-what does that tell you at the end of the day?
