One off fast laps at the optimum time of day are rarely indicative of anything....race simulations are more indicative of true pace. Not many of the riders actually completed a race simulation. Marquez showed pretty solid pace over his long runs....Marquez was unquestionably better than the rest.

I am aware of that. There was an issue with his braking system today which stifled his race simulation. He's showing improvement. High hopes is all I'm saying.

Testing is testing. Racing is racing. I tested tires (car tires) for extra pesos. nothing like whizzing around a 2 mile oval at 60mph for 2-300 miles. ZZZZZ! Comparing the two is pretty close to saying The Mudville Nine are going to the world series.

The other fast guys who test the fast stuff rarely get mentioned by the MC press and what is being tested and why is given little attention.

Maybe "they" will hire Kimye to test Harleys for some really great press.

The same things were said two years ago when Marquez showed up and dominated testing. Not some of your better work William, I expect better from you.

Oh Yeah! Marquez is the fastest of the fast guys right now. The press,by implication, following the "any press is good press" suggest that Marquez is in the saddle on the bikes, airing up his own tires, analyzing the data and cleaning the bugs off his visor, all at the same time.

The Recliner Commandos and Holders of the Royal Remotes eat that shit up..

    A work in progress eh!

Finally got to watch race 1 of wsbk last night. That was some great racing. If this is any indication what the rest of the season is going to be like it going to be an awesome year. The Brits are going to mixing it up at the front all year. Now that Rea is on a more competitive bike I think he will be the one to beat. But Haslem is looking great and is healthy and crazy Chaz was right there too. How the hell did Haslem run off late in the race (and somehow keep it upright doing 140mph in the grass) and come a mere few inches of winning the race. That was one of the better saves I have seen. Not really dramatic looking but thats why it was such a great save. The rookie Vandermark pushing Tom Sykes off the track was interesting, want to hear what Tom has to say. And to see Bayliss back on the track was cool, the old guy was flogging it out there with the kids. Fun stuff.

    lmao

Most club racing has been more exciting than GP. lol GP has been getting better the last few years especially with MM tearing it up and Rossi finding something. Its cool to see the fastest most expensive and technologically advanced bikes racing but Moto 2 and WSBK is better "racing". I have hope again for the AMA. We need some new home grown racers and the way it was going with DMG it was doomed.

What makes club racing so great is all the different classes , not to mention in my unique political correct way that it's fucking live...Some of the umbrella girls have small tits and up here in the PNW we sometimes need real umbrellas.. Club racing is pretty much open to all comers and all sorts of "racing" gear. 25-30 Honda GP 125s buzzing down the track is not the most exciting thing in the world until they are on the pipe and the corner speeds are noted. Got some dudes here that race a special class of old Honda 160s. Some of the workmanship and conversions are spectacular. Then we got your vintage classes. These guys run the old iron and run it hard. Not much like the sound of an uncorked Manx Norton aboot up to the redline.. Some dudes even race in the dirt. ;) If this seems unsanitary, a few sanitary napkins can help relieve the stress.

Moto-GP has some trickle down to it but the bikes are strictly race bikes. WSB bikes look like what ya can buy but close up and personal anybody with 20-20 vision can see major differences.

Mamola's save may be the best ever for how high the front end was off the ground. Those 500cc smokers could spit you off in a blink. This video came up right after and there are some head shaking saves in it.

You guys in the PNW do have a great mixed bag of racing. I bet rain tires sales are higher there than anywhere.

Some of the racers show up with rain tires already mounted on wheels just in case. Good observation.. The guys with the vintage iron usually head for the barn or the nearest umbrella girl..

For sure on the old bikes. I don't ride my 40 year old RD out in the rain either. She is a fair weather girl. Heck I don't even take the CBR track bike out in the rain anymore, track has to be dry for me. been there and don't need the extra excitement.

Looks like Laguna Seca will be hosting one of the new Moto-America races in July. Might make a trip up there for that one. If Lorenzo can keep his head in the game from the start this year, things might be a little tougher for MM.

Although the racing action is more close than MotoGP, still seems like the front runners get way ahead of the pack in WSBK too. I wanted to see more of Bayliss, but he was too far behind the leaders, so hardly any coverage of him. All in all, it was great to watch. Oh yeah, Haslam was real impressive this past weekend!

Think MM has his bike set up well?! Shows his core and leg strength too.

Finally watched race 2 of WSBK. Just as good or better than race 1. Unbelievable finish again. Seeing Troy Balis out there was magic too. He is 46 this month..... and can still flog the Duc!

Front runners tend to be ahead of the pack?
