This guy goes by the name motorcycleparts2u/sportbikeparts2u out of NV. I ordered a part and checked after 5 business days with the USPS tracking info provided. EBay has my order marked as shipped but their tracker and the USPS tracking site show only a pre-ship acknowledgement. (Meaning it hasn't even been dropped off by the seller AFTER FIVE BUS. DAYS.)

I looked at his reviews (should have before I bought it) and 9 negative reviews in the past month alone, many for selling items he didn't have. Most for terrible shipping times. I messaged the seller and asked to cancel. I got my refund so no harm done in MY case...

But if I were waiting on this shipment to repair my bike if it were disabled or god forbid my only transportation, that would be a huge setback. Luckily mine was for an upgrade and not a necessary replacement part.

    Lesson learned. Check sellers reviews.

I have ordered two items from vendors who shipped USPS First Class, first order took full 30 days, second order never showed up (vendor shipped another part, Priority Express). Both reputable vendors, not their fault, will not order anything anymore that is shipped first class, will pay extra for Priority which shows up in 3-4 days.

Sometimes things go bad, sometimes they don't.
I've been buying through ebay and others as long as they have Paypal for over 9 years, over 600 transaction, and its all been good.
A few times its gone pear shape, but Paypal always comes good with a refund if you've done the right thing.
Most times, if it looks too good to be true, it is.
Think about what your about to buy, and make sure you're covered.
I've never paid for fast postage, just normal, I've always got it. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I try to avoid anything being sent USPS. I've had way too many problems with the post office lately with things showing up late, or not at all. UPS and Fedex are much better at keeping their promises. Also, if a package requires a signature, UPS and Fedex have after hours facilities to get your stuff, while USPS keeps trying to deliver the package at the same time day after day, and if you can't make it to the post office before 5:00pm (like anyone with a job), you're SOL.

The vendors that are shipping USPS by any method including parcel post can obtain from USPS a very close estimate of arrival time even when parcel post is employed. Sometimes vendor have things for sale that are not in stock. Best to call rather than using the net especially if some part or farkle is needed rather than wanted.

Reputable dealers will not charge a credit card until the transaction is complete on their end. This give an indication of whether what was ordered was in stock or not.

Is USPS or FEDEX or UPS perfect? Hell no.. Are shippers even close. Hell no.. Are some of us afflicted by the " Instant Gratification" virus? Yep.. LOL

I think what gets left oot sometimes is that we think all this transportation is an outgrowth of some "Beam me up Scotty!" shit performed by some giant computer somewhere when what it boils down to is that the system is being run by folks just like us.

Thankee Jesus for making me perfect...LOL

Are you buying from overseas too? Is the postal system in OZ close to UK's Royal Mail? Never used PayPal or bought anything from Ebay.

Short story: I have an old Japanese made stovetop rice cooker that is aluminum. The design is centuries old. I could not find anything aboot it. Finally day before yesterday I spotted one on Ebay. The bid was 8 pesos and the buy now price was 20 pesos. This dude wanted 30+ pesos to ship the damn thing.

I get a lot of my parts from the U.S. or England, parts for my 5th gen are no longer in stock here in OZ bike shops, and it's often faster & cheaper to get it from OS.
I shop around, as postage costs are sometimes stupid. But even with stupid postage costs, it is usually cheaper to get it from your neck of the woods.
Recently I started looking to get an original stator for a spare, here they want $550, & a week to wait. They are $187 from Partzilla + $60 postage with tracking and here in 5 days. Simple maths really.

At those prices, it sounds like some of the US Honda dealers have relocated to OZ.. Do the parts guys pull oot pistolas and say "Buy or Die! ?

    Your math is very clear.

OZ, exactly the same experience here,I would never buy anything from a Honda dealer out here ever again, they price gouge like there is no tomorrow, and they can't understand why we have to buy O/S, obviously they still seem to think we live in a bubble and that they are the only ones who can save us
