Imagine if this was DOHC and a few modernizations of the engine, i.e. get it away from the old style pushrod style.

That said, it sounds incredible. I am wondering if the torque of the engine wants to lay the bike over, like the Motoguzzi does.

I was wondering the same thing. I have seen the Boss Hogs do that.

I've only ever seen pictures of a Boss Hogg. But, I know the little 2,5 HP MotoGuzzi V7 "racer" I revved up a few times really wanted to move the bike. Racer... Maybe downhill, in a vacuum and with a push...

Moto-Guzzi got started one year before Sid Caeser. (1921) This Moto-Guzzi had some problems with side winds but no published items aboot torque.

    http://www.motosolvang.com/bike_pages/Moto_Guzzi_500cc_DOHC_V8.htm

The company is the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in Italy and made a shitload of other engine configurations before concentrating on the Vtwins, even producing an OHC model. The engines are sometimes used for drones. I'm an honorary member of the Moto-Guzzi MC in Seattle who meet once a month in Enumclaw, WA for possibly the best breakfast in the whole state short of a double order of Jo=jo's.

For more poop on Moto-Guzzis try. Moto-International in Seattle.

Holy Moldy! I damn near forgot. The assends of Moto-Guzzi twins jack up some and there is some torque transmitted in a clockwise direction. BMWs do the same thing. This does not happen at odd intervals or one of those "whoops! BIG surprise deals. Unlike our beloved VFR's with those wonderful R/R's that only do their thing once in awhile.

Boss Hogs of course do that. It's how they manage to get the bikes pointed in another direction..

Better yet, drop 100 lbs, make it 1000cc's and one hell of a sport bike.

    But breaking one is: [IMG]

Not surprising of the V4 sound like a mini V8. Sounds cool along with a lot of other types.

Are Harley blocks now made with Japanese steel?

Could be Japanese or Korean steel too. Long ago it was in vogue to tell the story that everything steel made in Japan was from old steel beer cans. Harleydoods like to tell stories like that even today. Not much new from that quarter..

Nice of us to rebuild all their steel factories with modern ones after WW2. Sure hurt the factories back home.
