Somebody should point oot that @ 100 cu.in the Motus engine is smaller than the 102 in Harley engine. If nobody does,, no great loss.

When hashing aboot speed records of any kind including absolute records such as they exist, There are a whole shitload of things attached to said records.

Somewhere in the middle of all the hype drafted by the PR dudes, press flacks, and outright associated BS born of internet fairy tales some rules and descriptives.

An example from a third party source that points out that yes there were records set and good on them.. but the records were set on "Production Pushrod American" motorcycles.

    http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/news/motus-factory-sets-two-land-speed-recordsthen-rides-home

Anyone care to bet that HD is right now not prepping a Production Pushrod American motorcycle for the 2015 Bonneville season?

...and yes, the rules change and in the comments following the above article some dude starts whining aboot the price and how fast he goes on a Hayabusa for less money. WhooHoo!

    Jesus wept!

I am in the non-topcase fan club. My buddy Rich of Rich's Seats (another shameless plug) rides Ironbutt on one of those bigass BMW Touring bikes. He sectioned the top case by aboot 8". Rich is of Irish extracton and made rude reference to topcaseds in general making a bike look like a largesize harleychica about to give birth to yet another. Rich is a colorful guy.

The Beemer was on his website last I looked. Flawless..

? This thing couldn't be further from a boss hoss. This cutting of automotive engines in half thing is nothing new. Our beloved Honda sawed the Fit engine in half to get the nc700 plant.

As for those power figures, very healthy but nothing crazy. The lightning electric has around 160 ft lbs.

Either way, nice bike. Not sure if the price is justified, be interested to see what production costs are.

30k and no ABS or traction control?

Reducing the volume of engines is not new. Bikewise the Vincent singles come to mind. Several lakes cars were run in the 1930s and later with Ford flathead engines with the pistons and rods removed and the cranks counter weighted.

Sawing an engine in half is a term used by drag racers. It is not a literal term and the cause was, many times, trying a rolling re-start in a hot fuel machine.

Say what you will but even at 30+K, the bike buys a shitload of cool. (even withoot a topcase)
