Look, it's a big bad scary world. Be aware, understand you're invisible and also, understand that everyone has a different opinion and that doesn't make them wrong. What is right for one, may seem wrong for another.

We need to accept what others think and not force our beliefs/opinions upon another.

You did exactly as I said. You used your skills to save your ass and you did not become a statistic. I never said we'd never get in an accident. I said use your skills to stay a live. Because only YOU can prevent YOU from being a statistic. You are not are you? Never said it would be your fault.

Just think if you didn't use your skills that day, were would you be now?

I think it should be a 4 digit fine and license points, But I'd settle for them actually enforcing the existing laws...

To be honest, I don't know off hand if you get points in our jurisdiction for this. Points or demerits are normally awarded when committing an hazardous moving violation. No doubt that this fits that category in my mind. But each prov/state has its own rules and regs.

Any moving violation that is admitted to ends up in a database. Insurers have access to a shitload of computer power. Too many violations in a given period and the rates go up.

Probably on some sort of points system in most places.

Some pressure exerted on the insurers might curtail the use of cell devices over say, a ticket for double parking (a moving violation in some places) but the phone company lobbys still hold sway. A guy in my club (avionics engineer) sent me a white paper years ago that the phone company paid for that was basically a counter argument for the use of cell devices in any manner and how fucking great they were. This aboot the time when only OZ and France were banning cell use whilst moving.

The whitepaper is probably on the web someplace. I lost some stuff when I got hit by a virus.. Basically the phone folks do not give a rats ass aboot anyting but the pesos.

Now we will hear from somebody who sells cells at Walmart with the official company philosophy direct from the Board of Directors.
