traded off my 2006 vfr for a new 2014 and want a shorty racey looking exhaust and all the aftermarket stuff is 18 inches or more like a auto muffler. anyone know of one that will slip on that is low profile and carbon fiber or such look? doesn't seem like the major manufacturers don't think outside the box and just offer similar profiled units that are long and obnoxious. help.

Here, if you go to this page, just about every one of these silencers is available for the 2014. Just click "VIEW" to the right of each one and scroll down towards the bottom of the list to find VFR800F Interceptor 2014. Lot's of choices, and very cheap prices.

I have the stubby carbon 14" on my bike....here's a shot of mine.

I've wondered why Honda went away from the under tail exhaust of the 6th gen. Is it just that taste's in styling have changed (mine hasn't) or maybe to lower the cg, or maybe space constrains?

I think the biggest reason was weight reduction. I'm pretty sure if you ask 100 people which style looks better, 99 will say the 6th gen. Obviously Honda had to know that, but decided weight reduction and a lower CG were more important.

This is the 14" Delkevic pipe, with the center pipe shortened 1.5" for a more balanced look.

The sound is great. I would imagine the carbon can is similar in sound.

Staintune does have a pipe out but it is very long. Doesn't look great IMHO, but not all the different from the Delkevic. The $650 price difference is significant, though. I am sure it sounds wonderful... They are struggling with the high mount version that would NOT work with the Honda panniers.

Why would anybody buy the Staintune? Out of proportion, too long.

Just looked at DAM muffler in the matt finish with the polished end cap, looks great and matches the style and finish of the bike.
