That's not a drop. That's a wreck. Different category all together.

I can agree with that, but it was like a normal fall from standing still (like for example if I forgot to put the stand down)...just kinda forced. So wasn't sure a forced tip over counted

Time to bump this thread, specially for new members.
New members: enlighten us with the details of how you drop/ed your bike/s if you dare. We may laugh, we may even say thank you and some will use the "asshole button"

Well I guess I will chime in on this one.

The CM450 and Virago I never owned long enough to drop.

Triumph - 1 - Working in the garage with Pa (I was 22) I moved it out onto the steep section of the short 3 foot driveway (backyard). Standing on the side with the kickstand in the uphill section. I lost my balance and the bike goes down into the grass. Lots of curse words were said. Dad helped me pick it up. Cracked the fairing, no major scratches though.

AR80 - 1 - I put 10k miles on that thing. Jump curbs, parked in bicycle spots with it, rode it in the rain, drove the piss out of it, etc. None. Maybe because it only weighed 140lbs. Drug myself and the bike through an intersection. Picked the bike up, bent the shifter back and went to class. Sitting there taking notes and bleeding all over my arms.

CBR - 2 - Crashed twice, once in the hills of West VA and once down the street of my place in Hampton Roads. Never dropped it though.

GL1000 - 2 - That I can think of. Once outside a hotel in VA onto a friends bike. Once with the fiance out on skyline here in the bay area. I walked away to piss and the kick stand fell in and the bike went down. The look on the Fiances face was priceless. The "I didn't do it" look.

VFR - 0 - Haven't had it long enough. Only ran 2 tanks of gas through it.

This is a neato thread! :cool-new:

Crashes are the same as drops. I have made up my mind. This is not a democracy. Northwood has now joined the ranks of us doofuces.

I think he was from a show called something like The Gong Show. I think the main judge and producer was Chuck Ferris or something like that. I think he was pissed every time he was on that show. Not that there is a lot wrong with that or anything. This guy's handle was "the unknown comic" I believe.

Wow!! What a memory. Right on all counts. Except for the "being pissed" part, although that would certainly explain a lot.

It was actually Chuck Barris and not only might he have been "pissed" on stage, he also claimed to be a CIA hit man! Check out the movie 'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind'. It's based on the memoir book Chuck wrote.

THAT'S IT! I was close but no cigar. I will have to check out that book/movie. Maybe he turned the way he was after a debrief gone wrong. They should have cranked down the amps.

I think Chuck Barris (I was wrong on the name too) was the model for Marvin Boggs in "Red":

"Well, he thought he was the subject of a secret government mind control project. As it turns out, he really was being given daily doses of LSD for 11 years."

Maybe the show itself was a CIA operation put in place to send hidden messages to secret planted quadruple agents for CIA, KGB, RCMP, and United Federal Republic of Randy Secret Service Agency (UFRRSSA) (Pronounced "Irfsaw") His role with UFRRSSA is a dual role. He is also the agency janitor too.
