On my way home today, my display stopped working. The clock still works. The bike will turn off and on. What do I need to do to fix it? Simple fuse, or worse. Thanks!

Had the same problem but my fuse kept blowing out. Fuses usually don't blow out for no reason. Turned out to be a short at the front brake lever switch. One of the wires was shorting out occasionally against the handle bar when squeezing the front brake lever. Make sure the wires at the lever switch are connected completely and are not shorting out against the bar. Not the only place shorts can happen, just happened to be where mine was causing the blown fuses.

Replace the fuse and while the ignition is on, move the handle bars side to side and ocassionaly squeeze the brake lever, if you're lucky the fuse will blow again and help you find when/where the fuse blows.

    Good Luck.

Now the noob question...which side is the fuse box on? under the seat? Do I have to take fairings off? Thanks! Also, with the electrical system "mostly" working, okay to drive until I can replace fuse? The clock is still working and all, so I don't think it's a major electrical issue, but I also am not a mechanic. Thanks!

On my 09 it's on the right. Also, not only was my dash (other than the clock) not working, the headlights weren't as well. I rode home ~90 miles with the bike in this condition but I personally wouldn't make it point to purposefully ride with it in this condition.

Awesome. Just replaced it with the spare in the box under the small plastic piece. 2 screws and one clip, some cursing and hoping I don't scratch and break plastic. And it's fixed. As far as I know.

Side question, is it okay to remove the 10A fuse for the clock? I don't really need it on. Is there any danger? I don't really need the passive battery drain for a feature I'm not that into. Thanks again, rjgti! you're awesome.

To me, 10A seems awful high amperage just for a clock, I would double check but something tells me there's more to that circuit than just the clock. The draw from the clock is very minuscule to be worried about it drawing too much to do any battery draining.
