Meat on the table.. Some of the same thing with deer in places. Way too many and the Bambi lovers seem to think that's OK. In WA the elk are overpopulated and protected. One guy planted some trees and the Elk ate them. He was out as I recall, ten grand. The property was the guy's farm. No shooting.. A friend of mine found a loophole that allowed the use of black powder guns. Problem solved. More meat on the table.

I would love to shoot something meaningful to eat. Funny, my old plinker Daisy air-rifle took a dump, I can't complain as I bought it at the Swap Shop for $15.00 and got some years oot of it. So; I go to the local Walmart and buy a breach loading .177 cal rifle, Ruger, (no-shameless plugs.) Well; that sucker was so powerful it punched through the metal back drop that I was using for years in my garage to plink at!

Shooting chit is fun, paper or proto-plasams...(sic) I won't ride in the parade as thats amature hour, I commute on two different bikes aboot :canada: speeling :pound: 3-4 times a week, 30 miles each way, I95 is a road you gota have your game on for. I felt like I was in Germany this morning as I was at over 220 kph and passing a bmw on 595 . Its all good in the neighborhood :loco: I love South FL, wut can I say...If the little "Missus" wants to go to the "event" aka Toy Run and watch Charlie Daniels and look at some people specticles, I will ablige her. I am that kind of guy. If your ever down my way, give me a heads up and we can meet up...

Small trees, big elk. ;) Ben awhile.. I think the trees were birch. My guy is author Greg Field.

A couple of days marinating in red wine after larding and haunch is good too.

Versions of those same air rifles are used in the Oympics. They are recoilless. One of the UK outfits that made some was BSA.. Birmingham Small Arms. The big gun is Feinbauworks (sp??) who make both rifles and pistols. Some even have electronic triggers.

Target versions are ten metre guns.

There is some evidence of larger bore air guns used as sniper rifles in some of the internecine European conflicts. Belgiums maybe??

Had occasion to rig a valve system to a long unrifled stainless tube to fire steel bearings at Lexan. Air source was a K bottle of N2 and later air @ 1800-2200 psig. Not the most scientific of data collection but Lexan proved the polycarbonate of choice for repelling micrometeroids.
